First things first, I should note that the difference between the "Standard" and "Premium" stands is not just that the watch charger is built into the Premium stand, but also that the phone charger is MagSafe certified. This means that it'll charge your iPhone at the maximum speed of 15 watts, while the Standard charger can only do 7.5 watts. This wasn't relevant for me though as I used this as a nightstand charger, meaning it had all night to charge.This charging stand is very thoughtfully designed! I got this for an iPhone 15 Pro, which I discovered likes to run itself very hot while charging, even while wired – so building a fan into the charger to manage heat is a great idea. Unfortunately I used this as a nightstand charger, which meant that I had the fan off at pretty much all times. It's not like the fan is that loud, but you will hear it from across the room if it's the only thing making noise. The light is a little bright to have on a nightstand, though.I may have gotten this 3-in-1 but the only thing I had was an iPhone – I had plans to get an Apple Watch a month or two down the line, so I can't speak much about it – but I did look at the way the mount works on the Standard stand, and I have to say I'm quite impressed – the base pops off to reveal extensive cable routing and one USB-A and one USB-C port, so it'll work with any Apple Watch you might have.I don't have AirPods and don't intend to get anything less than AirPods Max, so the wireless charger in the base isn't relevant to me – it does work though, and I did get a bit of a giggle charging my mom's iPhone SE on it, as it is ultimately just a standard Qi charger.The viewing angle adjustment disappointed me – it can't go to a full 90 degrees, which, combined with how high it held my phone, made it a little harder to see than I would've hoped. Other chargers can go a full 90 degrees, or even go level so they can charge non-MagSafe devices, although this compensates for the latter by having a second wireless charger in the base.Finally, I got a FineWoven case for my iPhone yesterday, and found that due to a slight lip on the charger of the Standard stand, it would leave a conspicuous ring on the case – albeit one that could be rubbed off. This is just something to keep in mind though if you have a FineWoven case, and it's a pretty minor gripe, since it's not permanent, and FineWoven can already be scratched by literally anything.Overall, while I'm really impressed by this charging stand, it doesn't really suit what I wanted it to do in this role – the fan cooling was turned off all the time, the viewing angle from my bed was poor, and the amount of space it took up horizontally proved to be a bit of a problem for my narrow nightstand. Even though I'm returning it, I'm still giving it five stars, because it's a really well-made charging stand that'll be perfect for a lot of people – just not me.Now if ESR made a certified MagSafe stand charger, with fan cooling, and in black, I would absolutely buy one for use on my desk...
