Top review from Canada

The actual camera is fantastic - great picture quality, and tons of great features.

Unfortunately the software let down the experience for me. I wanted to link it to a Synology NAS (Surveillance Station) and whatever I did just didn't work. Only after much searching did I find out that the features required for it to work are all disabled on the samera by default and the mobile app doesn't provide the ability to change them. So I follow the instructions to load the desktop app and ... still nothing, none of the options are there as shown in the how-to. Turns out they didn't bother to add them to the MacOS version of the software so then I needed to create a Windows VM to set that up before I could do it. This was all infuriating and unnecessary, and could make it impossible for some people - build in the controls to ALL platform versions of the software!

Once the features are enabled it works great and the camera itself produces a very good picture.

It's a shame that the Ethernet cable is so big - if the thinner end of the wire disconnected from the camera it would make for much easier installation without requiring such large holes to be drilled.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice clear picture

I have this camera and the doorbell camera. Both have excellent picture quality and the app from the Reolink website is easy to use and very well designed. I can move this camera from left to right and also zoom in and out using the app. The picture quality is clear and using the porch light I can view color even at night. You will need to purchase microSD cards to save your videos, or you can subscribe to their cloud service to save them that way. The application comes with a full feature of settings and very easy to use. Overall, these cameras are well built quality cameras.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Product!

What's bad:
(1) Tracking is poor. Not smooth and not esp helpful.
(2) Night vision is not great. No camera is great at that (in this price bracket). If this matters, use event detection to trigger floodlights.

What's good... everything else:
(1) Wifi works great (from garage, through 2 rooms, to WAP just fine!)
(2) Detection (and adjustability is excellent)
(3) Notification options are excellent
(4) Works well with NAS (synology, at least)
(5) Remote access (via OpenVPN to router then direct to camera) is excellent

What's iffy:
(1) Firmware updates (manual is fine; automated... I couldn't get it to work)
(2) Dual stream to synology (one H.265 one H.264 is no go; finger point all you want)

Overall: an great product. Limitations don't affect my use case. Judge for yourself.

4.0 out of 5 stars Easy setup, great quality picture & price!

The camera is easy to setup and install. The picture quality is great for both day and night shots, I have it setup with the reolink app for now, but will move to an NVR soon, the reason I went with 4* instead of 5* is that it does not work with the Reolink Cloud feature, so if you are using their ecosystem, it sucks to have that small detail missed.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not 'All It Cracked Up To Be...'

The specs on this camera would make you believe that it the best thing since sliced bread.
Well, if it worked the way they advertise it it would be a great camera. It is mediocre at best.
A few things to consider when buying this camera:
1) It requires a ¾" to ⅞" hole to accommodate the cord set as manufactured.
And so this leaves a large hole in whatever you are mounting the camera to, and this is especially important if you are running the wiring to the interior of your home.
Perhaps ReoLink might include a couple of cord bushings, or grommets to seal the gapping hole so bug, etc might not think it a great way to infiltrate your home!
2) Look carefully at the lens. Unfortunately I did not remove the blue protective film off the lens until I had the camera ready to initialize. Had I seen the internal defect (shown in the photos included herein) I would have had it replaced immediately. This is poor QC - Quality Control on ReoLink's part. No excuse.
3) In addition to the defect; the lens has an issue with Fogging (shown in the second photo included herein). I read reviews about this and it cited on two main possibilities:
1) The SD card slot cover not being installed correctly, and
2) Poor weatherproof in manufacture.
Well, I made a point of ensuring the cover was on correctly, so it is the latter...Poor QC -Quality Control.
ReoLink does not do a good job of ensuring that their products are customer worthy before they box and ship them.
To be fair, I ordered a replacement to see if the new camera is better. I hope it is and will update this review, and maybe even change the raring if it is "All It's Cracked Up To Be..."

In closing, a was given a good tip by ReoLink about my four other household cameras that also had separate and different issues:
Use a Static IP address when setting up the devices, otherwise if using a Dynamic IP it will confuse the cameras and the App will duplicate cams, and refuse to connect on occasion.
Other than that, the cameras they sell are reasonably priced but suspect in quality.
