Totally Useless Tripod Legs

Totally Useless Tripod Legs
I needed this to support my webcam which is smaller and lighter than my sport cam (eg GoPro) so I didn't expect any issues with the tripod supporting the selfie stick with webcam mounted. Wrong! You are extremely limited in using the rotation features of the folding arm while its on the tripod legs. Slightly off center any direction and it will easily tip over 90% of the time, in fact you can't even stand it for 10 seconds as it will tip over on its own as soon as you let go.The tripod itself is made of very light and easily breakable plastic which is ridiculous as this is a part of the unit which comes into frequent contact with various surfaces. Also the base of the tripod should have had some sort of a slip grip applied for when you use it on a table or other smooth surface. The design fault is that the tripod needed to have longer legs, in other words extend at least another inch outwards. Additionally had the tripod legs been able to fold down/out further instead of sitting so high above whatever its sits on, that would have added at least a bit more stability.Their photo of a camera mounted on the stick on the tripod with the arms rotating gives the false impression that the selfie stick and tripod will support the camera at a number of angles however it is totally impossible for this to work anywhere close to the picture they included in their description.I have attached a photo of this tripod that just arrived sitting beside another one I have for my gimbal and you can see the difference in spread of legs and height. I have also included a pic from their description showing how it is portrayed to support a camera on the tripod. As a selfie stick it may be ok but they should either eliminate the tripod feature or improve it. I bought it for that feature and its a total waste of money for me.Their warranty is replacement for another if something not working (eg damaged) but the problem is the build of the tripod.

I picked this up to be an 'extendable' arm that I can use for my GoPro Hero 7 Black and I'm very glad for it.
I use this mostly for scuba diving and the default length is comfortable for doing selfie recordings, while the extended arm lets me get really nice close ups despite keeping my distance from the aquatic creatures.
Nonetheless, you can also use it for vlogging or doing large group 'selfie' style recording. Sometimes I will also use the tripod legs to hold my GoPro in place if I want to do group shots with myself in it, you just got to balance it properly so it doesn't fall over.
The product is very durable (I've dropped it tons of times, even on stone, and it shows no signs of degrading in salt & freshwater). Would highly recommend this as opposed to the Go-Pro brand name extender.

Works just as you'd expect, for the money it is great.
Only concern is that when the bottom feet are attached, there is a very annoying sound that reverbs into the GoPro when the legs touch anything, especially the lanyard. Unfortunately it ruined about 90% of my videos from my latest trip, however now that I know that I will not have the legs sticking out while hiking.
If the material was higher quality Im sure the sound wouldn't have been so bad.

Worth it for the money. When compared to the similar GoPro brand name stand.
Update: This stand gets VERY top heavy and is very hard to keep it still. You may need counter wait or be on completely flat hard land.

My Gopro 3 Way broke and bought this instead for replacement.

Wow!!! It might not be the same from the real GoPro product but for the price, it is durable and reliable.
The handle grip felt ok and has nonslip grooves.
The tripod is kinda flimsy but works perfectly fine. Just make sure to becareful with it, it might break when pushed down accidentally.

Love this product. It is worth it.

I just bought this to hold one of my action cameras in front of my underwater fishing camera and fish finder. The multiple angles and length are important to me. The base looks good but if you angle the camera too far from centre or vertically it will tip over. The base legs are thin but look ok to support the weight. The only issue is the quality of the material looks to be a thinner type plastic that I don't expect to take many bumps without breaking. However the grip handle is very sturdy and will not slip from my hand.

Material quality is what you expect for the price range. Will do the job for vacation, party and other social event filming. For more rugged use I would recommend a more rugged selfie/tripod stick. For DYI videos I would recommend a much sturdier or even a camera mount tripod if you can budget it.

I bought a Gopro 10 which has the little slots to attach to a tripod already built in. The stubby tripod that comes with the GoPro10 kit is even more tippy with its tripod extended than this one. Which is my only complaint, it cant handle the extended arms and remain stable. That said, it works fine as a short tripod, and works well extended, just dont let the wind blow it over, try weighting the feet down with a rock. The plastic is solid and not twisty when extended, the locking pins are easy to use and the rubber hand grip feels secure. I use it to shoot ocean underwater shots so I like the minimum of metal parts to corrode. Its somewhat pocketable in baggy pants or a coat. But for the price nothing can touch it.

It worked well to get closer to things under water, but it was a little awkward to use. I was used to a regular selfie stick that didn't bend. Did get used to it after using it for a while.

Really nice tripod for the price, might take a little getting used to for some people but you can turn it into a selfie stick, extend it as a stand, the stick itself is really sturdy except the 3 legs, it's made out of hard plastic so just be careful and try not to chuck it around the place, treat it well
