Worked great for a handful of old 3.5 inch hard drives I have. Mine also has an optional USB-C connector to my PC.
I assume some people having issues with the product don't realize that you must have a USB 3 port or higher in order to make it function.
If you are attempting to make it work with an old USB 2 port then it will not function. USB 2 does not provide enough power to run an external drive.

Bought some of these for use with Raspberry Pis. They don't work with Raspberry Pi 4 at all. Not merely a software issue, but they are not even detected in lsusb.

Buy Startech instead, as they work no issues.
