1. Does S220 Indoor Cam support 5GHz Wi-Fi?

No, it only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connection.

2. Does S220 Indoor Cam support HomeBase?

No, HomeBase is not currently supported. S220 IndoorCam is a standalone product which connects to the user's home Wi-Fi network.

3. Why will your camera be intermittently shut off or powered on?

First, we would like to point out that it's not a common issue. There is a possible reason. Please confirm if the camera has been turned off by mistake in the Eufysecuirty app. Please go to Eufysecurity APP >Devices>Camera settings>Make sure the camera is switched on. If the button is switched to the left side, the camera will show turned off.

*Push notifications with thumbnail previews require thumbnail preview images to be temporarily stored in the cloud.

**If you choose to use cloud-based features such as cloud storage or push notifications with thumbnail previews, videos or thumbnail previews will be sent to the cloud as needed to provide your selected features.

So I've bought this Eufy camera for a while now and figured it's a good time to leave my review.Our experience of the camera has been great overall. We placed it beside our automatic feeder so that it helped us monitor whether both cats had the chance with their food or if the feeder was giving out food normally at the right time. Occasionally when we're at home playing with them, sometimes funny moments happened and obviously we don't always have our phone recording, and Eufy captured those moments for us! (well...when it's facing the right way and also detecting the cats correctly, since we only set auto-record on pets only).Here comes a few glitches/issues we've had over the past year:1. Occasionally goes offline maybe once per month? but usually recovers within a few minutes. Not sure if this is related to our Wifi signal at all, but usually the network is quite stable when we're home. Recently this hasn't happened for a while but we also haven't been looking at the recordings that much since we haven't been travelling.2. It's best to place the camera somewhere without obstacles in the view. For us, we placed it on the ground beside the automatic feeder, but since the camera could rotate almost 360 degrees, sometimes it would just point at the nearby chair legs or table legs and not the angle where the automatic feeder or the cats are, so while it has motion detection feature, but it's not looking at the right view to detect the events.. There's an option to select the view of interest for motion detection, but sometimes it still rotates out of the view when cats run around in the room, then the camera doesn't return back to the original view of interest after a long while. I suggested to the development through their app that it'd be nice to have a setting to set how long it takes for the camera to return to the view of interest if it rotates away, but there wasn't any response. lol. Probably too insignificant for them.Besides the two small issues above, this is a great smart pet camera for people who've never put any kind of recording camera at home to begin with.

I made the expensive jump from Blink to Eufy for MANY reasons (WORTH EVERY DOLLAR):

5. Zero subscriptions needed
6. I also LOVE that this very cheaply priced indoor cam will alert me if my smoke/Co2 alarm is going off

* I use the HomeBase 3 which acts as an security alarm, doorbell chime, and data storage unit

Setup was super simple.

Short version: PERFECT! highly recommended. Go for it without blinking.
Longer version: I had bought two of these for an indoor need, and I am really amazed by what you can get today in that size and for a very very fair (if not low) budget. Image is perfect (2k), including the night vision, sound capture is really good, lots of settings and options in the dedicated app. The app as well is really well designed. The cam has a 360 feature that you may control via the app. It works with wifi and has to be plugged, which is something I wanted (no low or empty battery anxiety when you need to keep an eye on your pet and you are away for a weekend...). The installation of both cams, and the syncing with the app takes literally 5 minutes and it's ridiculously easy. No need to be a tech savvy at all: plug it, download the app (account to create), take the QR code of the cam in picture, put your wifi code, et voilà! You may need a bit more time though to explore all the numerous options of the app and if you choose to use homekit (which I didn't). Not sure if it's still the case but their cloud was giving in June 2022 a 1-month trial period for free that you don't even need to stop in case you are not planing to keep it: it stops by itself, since no credit card is required to benefit from it. you still receive several reminders and the possibility to download and save the videos before the trial month ends. Personally I don't need that cloud storage. It has a storage card notch, which I didn't need/use so far. Kudos to the maker, honestly.

My experience with this camera is compared with the only other camera I have ever owned. A Blink Indoor camera. So just know, I have only 1 other camera to compare it to. Also I use HomeKit exclusively. So my review is based on the features I can use as a HomeKit camera only.

I do believe though that this camera is worth the money they are asking. It is probably (maybe the only) the best indoor HomeKit camera.

Features are great. 2K (1080p on HomeKit) is very crisp. Quality at night is much better than I anticipated. Although the edges of the videos at night are not as clear. Not a deal breaker.

Being able to pan and tilt is really nice. Especially if you have a pet and are looking in a larger room. It is a little cumbersome to use, especially remotely. This is due to a delay. But again not a deal breaker for the price. Also it can pan and tilt by itself if it detects motion. I found it a little creepy but you might find it useful.

I find the motion sensor is super sensitive most of the time. More sensitive than the blink cameras I had.

Local storage is nice. Especially with video that contains what’s in your house. And it’s just nice not to be forced to use the cloud or pay for it.

Really simple and easy to setup. App is pretty well laid out and responsive.

Most of the gripes/issues I have with this camera have to do with HomeKit. Only 1080p video. You can’t pan and tilt in the home app. You cannot view locally recorded video in the home app. But these issues aren’t their fault but Apple’s. Not really fair to knock them for that.

Overall, if your looking for a budget indoor HomeKit Camera I recommend you seriously consider this one over others.

Eufy has done it again with this Camera. This unit is AWESUM. Full of features (putting other camera companies to shame... hint hint Wyze) and the APP is GREAT compared to others. VERY user friendly. And of course the number 1 selling point for me. NO FEES!!!!!! NO EXTRA Monthly costs!!!! (if you do not want to use their cloud services) Hey a micro SD card works for me, no need for any one else to have access to anything I record. (Ya I know all companies say their clouds are private and secure... And they all are till they are not. Think about it.)

The video is crisp and clear and no or very little lag. GREAT CAMERA!!!!!!!! Will be buying more of these cameras to replace others I have.

UPDATE: 13 Feb 2023: I have to update this review due to the POOR customer service I've received from EUFY. This company used to be OK. I've got other cameras, and when I had issues in the past they were right on it to either fix or replace their product. Well something has drastically changed. I brought this camera over christmas time and it worked great till about 3 weeks ago. Then it stopped recording motion. It will record if you select continuous, but not just motion. I contacted Eufy multiple times looking for a fix. In the past I've had this issue and they promptly replaced the camera. This time however they keep saying they are aware of the issue and an update will fix it.... WHEN??????? Still waiting....... Still Waiting. Here is another thing I had to contact them multiple time just to get a response. Never was like that before. Sad a good company going BAD. I stand by what I wrote above as this is a GREAT camera for resolution and NO Service Fees, but seems like their customer service and issues are going to kill this company. I very much considering sending this camera packing and NEVER buying EUFY again. Buyer beware.

UPDATE - 14 Mar 2023 - It really pains me that I have to add this review, but people need to be aware. In the past I have PRAISED EUFY for their quality and customer service on their cameras, but sadly as of late they are and have FALLEN Hard. Here's the story...

So back in Dec 2022 I purchased this camera. It worked GREAT till EUFY did a software/firmware upgrade. From that point on it would not record motion. It would still record continuous 24/7, but not dect/record motion. Contacted EUFY and was told they knew about this issue and would be releasing a new firmware update soon. Well that was months ago. Anyways about a month ago I contacted them again to ask where the firmware update was... No date. So I told them I wanted my money back or a new camera. They sent me a new Camera and told me to keep the one I already had. Cool... Freebee. Great. It worked as advertised till It made me do the firmware update a day later. From that point on it had the same issue as above. Whatever.. Guess I can wait for the firmware update. Then last week the freebee camera they sent me stopped working all together. Keeps falling off line no matter what I do. Will not come on line unless I reset it, and then falls right back off line.

Can't really call and complain to EUFY again now since they already gave me a freebee, so now I have one camera that does not work and one that works kinda. Not good. It seems like there is a trend here that EUFY's products are not living up to what they should. Shame too 'cause their visuals for their cameras are the best I've found for the price. But that being said, what good is that if the functionality isn't there.
So here's where I stand for EUFY Cameras... I will not buy anymore of their cameras/products until they get their products fixed and I suggest others do the same... Let them fix their issues or fall through the floor.

UPDATE: 25 Mar 2024: Changing my review once again... Sorry peoples. :-) Anyways since EUFY fixed their previous software update the cameras are working again as advertised. GREAT Cameras. Sorry if I confused whomever with previous reviews. I would recommend this product and would/will buy again. NO MONTHLY FEES!!!!!!!! Why can't other manufactures get it... We buy your product... We do not want to pay repeatedly for it's use.
