Loved it.

Loved it.
So the machine is what I expected it to be in terms of producing frothy coffee. The operation is simple and that is what I was expecting as well.Downside: it may not be a downside for others but I like it steaming hot, the machine doesn’t give you a coffee which will burn your lips on the first sip. The heat is gentle. It’s the first cup I got today. May be some setting has to be adjusted, I don’t know. May be I need to figure out.But coffee quality is numero uno.

My boyfriend and I bought this for my parents for Christmas and the whole family uses it! I don't know if I would pay the full price though -- we bought it on special for about $130.00 and it was definitely the right choice. It isn't used everyday (because they have a Keurig too), but it can definitely be used everyday. My family now uses it on special occasions or when we have guests over, as it's not really the Nespresso machine itself that's super costly, but the pods. $10 for a pack of 10 pods can really add up over time. Thus, if you have the money to be ordering pods consistently, this is definitely a worth while buy. The coffee that the Nespresso produces is on a completely different level than that of the Keurig. It is rich, flavourful, and extremely enjoyable for anyone who loves coffee, especially black coffee drinkers like myself and my parents. Overall, a great product with a sleek and design that makes it a beautiful addition to anyone's kitchen.

Amazon keeps sending me ads for pods that do not fit.

Creamy, tasteful coffee all the time, no hassle.

The variety is large-not quite Keurig-pods large but sufficiently large and the branded stuff is really good. The 'crema' actually does intensify the experience but it's no espresso machine level.

The machine is relatively quiet and quick and I like the range of sizes. It also fits quite well in the kitchen along with my other red, black and metal-themed things. I genuinely like it.

The Bad
It's obviously not as customisable as Keurig is and the pods are expensive. You can't easily use your own grounds which means you throw out the aluminium pods. Yes, there's a recycling programme but these programmes are meant to limit rather than negate environmental impact. It would be a lot better of course if there was a customisable pod but...money haffi make lol

I made four videos but sent the one that showed the most. For informational purposes, I use only Brita filtered water, it is a recently installled filter and the water from the filter tastes great before making and coffees.

The results are this:
1. Do not buy this used. I get a lot of items used without issue. In this case the welcome sample coffee set was not included and was not listed as not included, which means that the reduced price of a used version of this package was actually closer to the price of a new machine without the welcome coffee set, but the machine is obviously used. There were still oils from welcome set of coffees inside of it. Completely ruined the new coffee machine experience, did not feel welcomed.

2. The barcode reader may or may not work as it should, I have no difinitive way of knowing if it's the pods I got that are improperly coded or if it's the machine that doesn't read them all correctly. As you see in the video,a 230ml pod filled up nearly exactly it's double. Interestingly all the 230ml pods in my set of four pods did this. The stormio and odacio did this, and subsequently tasted quite terrible. But the Diavolito and the Altissio 40ml pods filled up 40ml exactly (with the crema included) so more like 35ml of actual coffee, so the taste is a little more intense. In my case it seems the diavolito was quite good but the altissio was quite gross so I'd say that if the coffee pod is apparently sent to you fairly old, intense gross will result. The diavolito was produced 4 months ago, all the other coffees in my set were produced 5-6 months ago. The difference in taste is quite clear.

3. There is a very obvious defect in the manufacturing of this model, OR the previous owners or Amazon handlers either dropped it or damaged it somehow but no damages are apparent from these use cases so I am leaning towards a poor design incapable of handling the higher pressures required in extracting coffee from these pods, as it leaks from the side even with the smaller pods, just not as much.

Everything else is fine. The automated used pod removal is a dream for making multiple cups without burning your fingers. The whir and hum of making a coffee sounds a thousand times more pleasant in the morning than the K-cups' sound of mechanical diarrhea being squeezed into my cup, and is as satisfying to me as the very pleasing pop and drip of a typical drip coffee machine, the difference being akin to liking the sound of a good quality car engines, some like the american classic sounds and some like the high-end import sounds.

I will be purchasing a different model Nespresso with a reservoir on the side or adjustable. I like that the reservoir is easier to clean than the Keurig's. Less little spots that I can't get a brush into.

Even considering that this is a lower-cost model to try and bring in clients to the very expensive (and very good) Vertuo product lines, this specific model did not undergo sufficient quality control testing and in my opinion is making the Vertuo line look cheap. Even my horribly horribly overused Keurig (first generation, so old and overused my coworker basically threw it at me) at work doesn't leak, but then it doesn't have higher pressures to deal with.

Find a more expensive and higher quality model and make your Nespresso experience a good one, guys! I'm on the hunt for that myself!

*Edit: turns out the pods were to blame. The machine made pods that my uncle gave me to try on it and they were all the correct amount of coffee afterwards, except the machine did continue to leak. Instead of refunding the machine I decided to use it at work and just keep it on a kitchen towel. Less waste in the world.

I like my Nespresso. Even if you don’t buy the frother, you can still get a little foam. I love the technology, the app, and the ability to link my machine with the app to figure out what’s wrong with it. However, I’m looking for non-aluminum compatible reusable pods since aluminum is not healthy for the brain.

This Nespresso Vertuo is awesome! After performing the Rinsing easily, the next step was to make the coffee. At first I thought the machine was faulty as it didn’t work. But after consulting Utube, I realized I was doing it wrong. You need to press the button once to heat up the water tank, then press it again to start the coffee-dispensing. It’s so cool to watch the magic happen right before your eyes instead of behind the counter at Starbucks or wherever. Anticipation mounts as the aroma of fresh coffee invades the kitchen. I’m expecting George to drop down on a rope from an apt above me but I’m not willing to share. Get your own, George!

Im in love with this machine, came in perfect shape and much faster then it was supposed too. Makes the best coffee ive ever had at the press of a button its awesome. Makes me excited to wake up in the morning to make some coffee. 10/10 thank you
Will update if anything happens along the way.
UPDATE: July 8th 2022
Been using this machine for about a year and a half now, in the beginning I would use it every day as I was completely addicted to the espresso it made, then over time I only used it about twice a week and in the summer times, I basically never touched it.
The issues I’ve faced with this machine are pretty minimal, one day it just stopped working so I called the support team to get a quick fix. They walked me thru some steps on how to fix it and it worked! As you use your machine the coffee can dry up in some of the spinning parts and cause the machine to lock up or become clogged. I just used a tooth pick and my finger to unclog everything, took like 2 minutes!
The overall quality of the espresso has not diminished, it still makes great espresso as good as the first use. I was afraid that after I ran the machine out with there Nespresso cleaning solution that the flavor of my espresso would be effected but no, coffee still tastes great and the machine still seems to be rock solid. Now if you are someone that requires espresso every single day non stop I would say invest in a higher quality espresso machine, im not sure this machine would still be alive if I used it every day for a year and a half. Regardless, I still give this machine a 10/10.

Machine works great coffee pods are the best I’ve had compared to any coffee shop. Beats k-cups hands down. Now for the cons: box had holes in the side, machine had dust all over it but it took me long enough to get this so I kept it. Not to mention the instructions leave a lot to be desired since I don’t speak or read Spanish or Chinese. Would recommend to all love it but only had it a few hours I will give it an update at a later date

The Nespresso Machine is a handsome product. You get a real cup of coffee and not coffee flavored water.
A nice coffee aroma is given off as the coffee is brewed very quickly.
The coffee could be a little hotter so I heat up water in the microwave and pre heat my YETI coffee cup and that problem is solved.
Great Flavor, Great Product.

1.0 out of 5 stars This may be the worst consumer product you will ever own
Reviewed in the United States on July 11, 2022
Colour Name: Matte BlackVerified Purchase
I assume that most of the positive reviews come from people who have owned the machine for less than a month or so, or perhaps had one of the older, higher quality machines. Or perhaps the manufacturer has figured out a way to game reviews. I'm on my third purchased machine (with probably that machines replaced under warranty) and now feel like I have an adequate sample size to describe the ownership experience.

Pros:
Out of the box, they make better coffee than other single serving options. The setup is easy and making coffee is generally an easy, one button affair.

Cons:
Some machines simply stop working. If they continue to work, they require costly and overly-complex maintenance. In an effort to have the appearance of simplicity the machine has one button. Getting your machine to actually perform the required maintenance requires the purchase of their descaling supplies, which might be forgivable except actually doing the maintenance is absurd.

Here is the process in 15 easy steps:
1. Waste some coffee figuring out that you have a problem. 2. Reading instructions that won't actually help, and find yourself amazed that the process involves pressing a button and opening and closing the unit in unique and specific ways. 3. Watch and pause videos in order to try and figure it out. 4. Try to do the pressing, opening, and closing in a specific way in order to get it into each of the modes required for descaling. 5. Perform more pressing, opening, and counting procedures while watching for blinking sequences. Press the button for two seconds but not 1, 3, or 5 seconds. Wait for three blinks, then more pressing, then pouring then pressing. Attempt to do more pressing and holding with more watching of videos and pouring things. 6. Use more of their products. 7. It doesn't work 8. Try it again wasting more time and money. 9. Figure out that the machine is simply broken. 10. Do a live chat with someone who won't solve your problem. 10. Call their customer service and get a busy signal. 11. Do another live chat and leave your number. 12. Never get a call back. 13. Buy another machine. 14. Have it die after three weeks. 15. Give up.

And the solution would be so simple. Have another button somewhere with the word "Descaling" next to it. If you really want me to descale this machine so often in order to keep it functioning I should be able to pour a descaling solution in the back, press a button once and have the machine descale. And properly maintained machines shouldn't simply stop working. Descaling should be as easy as coffee-making.

This isn't just the worst coffee maker I've ever used--this is the single worst consumer product I've encountered in the last three decades. I can't think of any other modern product that requires the use of a design-flawed process in order to keep itself working for more than 60 days.

Another option would be to simply buy the cheapest one, use it until it stops working, then throw it away and get another one. The first one I owned actually lasted for a few years, but the last three have only made it 2-9 months. My latest machine lasted for 5 weeks before it simply powered off one day and never woke up.

There is simply nothing else in the modern world of consumer products that compares to the ownership experience of a Nespresso machine. While my ownership experience may be unique, you should be prepared for the possibility that it is not. You may spend more time trying to keep your Nespresso machine working than you spend maintaining your pool, your motorcycle, your car, your computer network, or your yard.

5.0 out of 5 stars A flavorful coffee maker
Reviewed in the United States on January 4, 2023
Colour Name: Cherry RedVerified Purchase
I have owned more coffee makers than I can probably name. I have (or have had) a french press, an electric percolator, a stove top percolator, moka pot, pour over, Senseo, tassimo. Keurig, mr coffee drip, HB Flex Brew, and many off brand variants of some of the previously mentioned.

I like coffee. I prefer darker and bold. But different roasts have their place. Some makers do better with some blends than others are able to do. Some of my methods are manual and others automatic. Lately, I tend more towards the automatic simply because of convenience and speed. No way I'm gonna stumble out of bed on a work day and mess with a moka pot. I want coffee and I want it immediately.

So, have owned all these I do have favorites among the one cup variety. The Senseo was my first and it changed how I felt about coffee. It really did make great coffee and the pods(?) started out reasonably priced but then became outrageously expensive (probably not by what we've come to accept today but back then a $1+ each was like paying $5 for gas). Honestly, the one I remember liking the best was the tassimo. Really, nice cup. Very finicky cleaning issues though. I put it up when discs became too expensive, but fortunately about about a year later our local Clearance Outlet had packages for $2 each! I was able to buy 30 or more and use it until it died.

I will say I like the Nespresso about as much. I already had the original line Nespresso. We bought the Plus version for my mother-in-law and I got to use it and liked it. I bought the Next because I thought it's be easier to brew the 18oz and split it with my wife with less fuss. In hind sight I would have gone with the Plus. I like the motorized open and close and well the Carafe only has to choices. I tried on and don't want to spend the money to try the other.

OTOH, I love all the sampler pack. Awsome sinlge and double espressos all the way up to the "coffee" size.

It does get expensive. To help with that I bought the silicone caps for refill. Our usual bean we buy and grind didn't to so hot. I might have to go the final 2 clicks on the "fine" grind setting. But, Cafe Bustello is fabulous - almost a chocolate taste. I get plenty of crema. Actually, the Next makes so much crema we had to get bigger cups just to hold it. Your mileage will vary depending on your likes. I've only had it since Christmas so we haven't been able to try different coffees and grinds yet. There isn't much fuss with refilling your own pods. The most work is cutting off the old foil. I find those coffee scoops that open like tongs and have the funnel shaped top for pouring is exactly the right amount for a "coffee" size refill. Just pour it in and put the silicone cap on. No need to tamp or anything.

Hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine.
