I've been into home audio for almost 40 years since I was a teen and this little amp brought me back to those great days of excitement for new gear.
The feature set is rather rich considering the small form factor and the astoundingly affordable price for the power it produces.
This is the definition of bang for the buck.
I did have a minor issue with the first one I received as it seemed to have a short somewhere and made a rather bad aroma from something popping when I plugged it in.
I notified their support about this and I have found very few companies who are as customer focused as Fosi.
The support staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating (Thank you Kathy) and A new device was sent out immediately.
After a minor shipping problem with the local postal service I received the new amp and after getting it out and checked I plugged it in and I am so happy with this.
The BT connectivity is rock solid up to about 20 metres and works through out my home. It does connect automatically on start so you will have to shut it off to use the other inputs.
I also use a small DAC with this and have founf that in most circumstances this amp will do what you need and do it very, very well.
Power to drive speakers is assured as I have used this to drive everything from small KEF speakers to big old BOSE 601s and it even makes the old vintage gear sound pretty good.
The amp does have swappable op-amps and depending on the sound type you like there and many types you can use but the included amps work very well.
This somewhat does add some colour to the music but not in a bad way but as a heightened pronunciation so to speak. When use with smaller speakers and a subwoofer using the included output this little powerhouse just shines,
The construction is excellent with a solid steel case and rock solid build with cool contrasting orange volume knob.
The knob-feel (TM John Darko) is great with noticeable detents in the centre and excellent progression feel.
I have also examined the original faulty unit they sent and after examining the board inside it seems the unit was fine and does now work again but it had been rattled so badly in shipping that a chip had slightly dislodged causing the power input to short and burn some of the shielding.
This is not a flaw from the factory as I have since examined a couple more of these units and they are all extremely well made and my issue was a very rare indeed occurrence. I have since repaired the original damaged unit and am using it as a testbed evaluating unit for other reviews now.
All in all this is a tremendously capable amplifier for the audiophile or the new audio fan.
