The video is comprehensive, but summarized:
- It was submerged in water approximately two feet deep.
- I dragged the unit around the tub.
- Tissue paper was inserted into the unit to indicate any leakage.
- GoPro footage was taken inside the tub (apologies, lack of foresight means the initial video is taken with the tissue obscuring the lens and was moreso to proof that the unit was properly placed in the water at the time of capture. The second GoPro clip later in the video provides better insight into the quality of the unit while submerged).
- The water was warm, the anti-fog strips were not used.
Outcome: The unit kept the tissue paper dry and the visuals for the short amount of footage taken were pristine quality. The unit is shown in the video post-test to be bone dry.
Conclusion: I will be taking this on a vacation to a tropical destination in the coming weeks and I expect to use it gratuitously, as I am now confident in the case's performance. I would recommend this product for the casual user, as I will not be diving with the unit and instead will be using it for beachside activities / snorkeling and my testing suggests this will be fine. However, I cannot confirm if this unit is sufficient for more rigorous use, such as diving (2 feet is not 25).
Update: Trip to my tropical, oceanside destination was a resounding success. Amazon only lets me post one video per review, so you'll have to settle for the picture I took of the turtle. Ideally, it would let me post the video of myself freediving about 8 - 10 feet down to get a closer look at Shelly. That being said, not only is the unit spectacularly waterproof, but it looks like it should just about do what it says it will with respect to being shallow dive proof.
