I bought them primarily because they CAN work WITHOUT a monthly subscription payment.They are not bad for the price.Remember: If you want to have two Camera Zones (each with multiple cameras) you'll need two "Blink sync modules 2's" one for each zone. Then you can set different automatic schedules separately for each zone.Conjecture on my part BUT I'm sure they have made them purposely slow when looking at a video that is saved to the Blink Sync Module 2. To make you want to buy a subscription.So if you can put up with a super UNNECESSARILY slow video retrieval time from a saved video on the USB drive it's a good system.So other than the SUPER slow video retrevial process they work as advertised.And the alerts to my iPhone are quick and easy.Oh, and another thing I don't like is that they only let you watch a camera for 1 minute and then it times out. Which is stupid. I don't see why they have to do that since when it's set up to come off your local system it's not taking any of their server bandwidth. Very weird. I wonder if there is a way to bypass that limit.I guess otherwise you can't complain because of the reasonable price.

I purchased the mini in 2020.(actually, I purchased my second one in March 2020 and my first one in the fall of 2019. The 2019 camera should have allowed me to keep using without a buying the cloud) It is so easy to set up. Takes seconds (if you have your wifi information and camera I'd ready) I loved it. One of the reason I purchased another one. Use both in the same app. I was able to save recordings, which was one of the reason I purchased another one. I was able to watch, or set up the motion detector and watch the video later when I had time. Unfortunately my phone was put on the ledge of my trunk and smashed. I had unplugged my camera because I was going to be moving the rest of my.things from my bf. I set up my camera and downloaded the app. I went to the record or save video and it said I have to buy a su subscription in order to save. I went to find out when this changed. So, the fact I bought it when if you had a mini no subscription was needed, and now I do. So one of the reason I bought it has been changed. I think because I had to change my phone. Same account same camera set up. Other then that now glitch, or before this feature was now pay for, I sing this camera phrases. The clarity is amazing. The sound is a bit wonky but for the price and sound it is better then expected. It is easy to hide and the motion sensor (when put on armed) would work like a charm. So I did not need to check.my phone all the time. I had a building manager that I had a feeling went into my apt. I was able to save clips hitting download. If you bought it wondering about the subscription and if worth it, I know with what I had it is worth it. I am debating ifI am going to get it. I just don't like that I lost the feature. Great camera great picture.. well.worth it.
