ASUS has rolled out the latest AMD AGESA 1.2.0.0 BIOS update for its X670E & B650 motherboards with improved Ryzen 9000 "Zen 5" support.

ASUS Preps For AMD's Next-Gen Ryzen 9000 "Zen 5" Desktop CPUs With AGESA 1.2.0.0 BIOS For X670E & B650 Motherboards

Following MSI, ASUS has now rolled out the first AMD AGESA 1.2.0.0 BIOS firmware for its AM5 motherboards. This new BIOS comes with additional system performance stability and various improvements for AMD Ryzen 9000 "Zen 5" Desktop CPUs. ASUS doesn't go into the specifics of this BIOS update but only lists that it updates AGESA to AMD ComboAM5 1200 and improves the overall system performance.

ASUS has rolled out the respective BIOS on its X670E, B650E, and B650 motherboards under the ROG, ROG STRIX, and PROART series. The full list of motherboards that have received the BIOS update are listed below:

With the launch of AMD's Ryzen 9000 "Zen 5" Desktop CPUs closing in, motherboard makers are now preparing their motherboards with the best possible support using the latest AMD AGESA BIOS firmware capabilities. First up, we will see support roll out for existing AM5 motherboards which will be the first to feature support for the Zen 5 CPUs while the brand new X870E & X870 options will be available on the 30th of September with improved I/O capabilities & faster DDR5 memory.

ASUS showcased just one X870 motherboard at its Computex booth which is the new TUF Gaming design and features a very minimalist look that looks great in black and gray colors. We can expect more high-end X870E and X870 designs from ASUS once we get closer to the September timeline.
