The new mini has been pretty awesome, since I got over a morbid fascination with checking the activity monitor. Some apps also run notably smoother on the M2, with fewer bugs and stability issues.
I haven't had any more strange recovery mode start-ups on the Intel, and it does seem to run better when paired with the old 2K display. Overall, I think the Intel lacks the GPU grunt needed for the work I do, whereas the M2 mini cuts through without ever getting flustered. I love the way the M2 stays so quiet and cool all the time, even when worked really hard.
