Move To iOS corrupts data

I have been trying for ages to get Move To iOS to transfer my messages from my Android to an iPhone 11 my daughter gave me to try. All my basic text messages are fine but any messages containing pictures get corrupted.

Fast forward to my better half getting a new Android phone. Before we transferred her data onto it we migrated my old Android phone to her new one. Everything came across perfectly so I loaded Move To iOS onto her new phone and tried again. Sadly, we had the same result as before and any message threads with pictures get corrupted in the move.

I was originally convinced it was my old Android handset causing problems but that is not the case because a brand new Android phone fails to transfer correctly either.

I see threads about this app going back years but has anyone got any ideas on how we get Move To iOS to work or is it a lost cause?

I did raise the issue and it was escalated to Engineering (I think that is what they called it) but after several phone calls contact ceased.
