Guys is it worth it to upgrade to this phone from a Samsung S8 (2017)? I'm trying to find a reasonable mid-range phone (somewhere between 300$ to 600$) with good performance and some what decent camera. Should I stick with this or can anyone recommend me something else?

That being said, hyperOS is heavier on the battery. And not only on this model. If you browse the reviews here many phones released with it have average battery life.
Hope it improves with further updates. The real solution for now is to stay in MIUI if possible. Which wasn't great but not this bad.
Guys, I have currently Huawei p smart (2018), I wanna upgrade and found these options: Samsung A35 256gb (320 USD), Samsung A55 256gb (370 USD), Redmi note 13 pro 5g 512gb (333 USD), and Redmi note 13 pro plus (397 USD). Which of these is the best in your opinion? I’m between the a55 and the note 13 pro but still don’t know which to buy.
Bought this a few months now. Really good, games run smoothly, camera is decent, and phone's performance is fast.
The only problem is, after updating to Hyper OS, the battery life kinda drains a little too fast. I haven't done anything to decrease its battery life other than browse social for a few minutes.
pagulayan, 12 Jun 2024I bought this RN 13 Pro 5G and it has a very poor battery life , I don't know why is that... moreThe Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 is fabricated by Samsung and not TSMC. I believe that literally any and all issues (especially heating and battery drain) regarding recent Qualcomm chips are caused by this; it's been proven time and time again, namely with GPUs (NVIDIA Ampere) and Google's Tensor chips, both of which were fabricated by Samsung, and were each infamous for running hot.
Qualcomm's own flagship 8-series chips from the 888 to the 8 Gen 1 were made by Samsung, all of which reportedly ran hotter and drained power faster than the 870, their last TSMC-made chip before the release of 8+ Gen 1. Since then, it appears that they've learned their lesson and have had TSMC fabricate their flagship line to this day.
So, my advice: Stay away from Samsung-made chips if you're looking to play heavy games every now and then, or at all. They're just so much worse than TSMC. If you don't plan on changing out ROMs, just go for MediaTek and their Dimensity series. They're more or less on par with Qualcomm's Snapdragon now, but without the headache of Samsung's fabrication — they're all-in on TSMC.
I bought the phone this year it has 8GB of Ram and 256GB of storage and the performance for games is great
I bought this RN 13 Pro 5G and it has a very poor battery life , I don't know why is that . One of the worst result SOC I ever had. Someone can explain ?

The EEA and India regions got a nice update recently, the system finally feels on par with MIUI 14. Global update should be coming within the next couple weeks. I'm already on HyperOS Global and some things don't feel as smooth as MIUI but I'm waiting for the next update which will probably put it on par with the regions I mentioned.

What is the difference between Global and Indian version when I get the box? How to see the difference between these variants on the box?
