Yet another piece of Chinese e-waste ! An otherwise decent phone let down by the 8mp tiny ultrawide lens.

Why shouldn't their be more efficiency on the battery?
Is it really this horrible thing to do to ask for improvement?
MarOMG, 29 Jan 2024I don't get all that crying about "only 9 hrs of web surfing...". You get super... moreWhat if you're out for the day, using Google Maps, listening to music, watching videos and making calls? People don't always have the option of charging.
My Pixel 6a charges painfully slowly, but it gets 15+ hours of web use with a 4,400mAh battery, according to the review. Under 9.5 hours for a phone with a 5,100mAh battery and an ultra efficient chip is ridiculous.
I don't get all that crying about "only 9 hrs of web surfing...". You get super fast charging. If you think it won't hold to the end of the day, just charge it for 10 minutes while undressing, showering, eating, actually talking to somebody... It will be almost full. Are you all glued to your phones, you can't put them down for 10 lousy minutes?!

I have to point with all due respect (and some sadness) that your reviews are declining in quality... Here we lacked proper GPU tests on GFXBench. They can't still be banned now that the phone has been out worldwide for nearly three weeks. There's also no testing of the EIS video stabilization, which a few reviewers and user have pointed out as a weak point (lots of wobbling and focus hunting at 4K). I don't know if you guys are understaffed or something but I was expecting a little more.
Anyway, I was looking into this but I might hold on for a while until it gets cheaper or something else from the competition catches my eye. With a microSD slot it would have been a winner.

-Android 13 out of the box. Why????
-mediocre at best battery life. Wtf is going on with battery life with recent Redmi devices??? How the hell does Xiaomi 13T get so much better battery life???
-expensive starting price.
-mediocre performance. Why so many mid range phones rival 2021's snap778+?
Redmi devices are becoming less relevant each year.
A quick camera comparison between the Redmi Note 13 Pro vs the older Xiaomi 12 Lite makes for interesting findings.
Both seems to produce the same, accurate, non-blurry, sharp photos.
I like the older 12 Lite has smaller footprint with its more compact design, has a higher megapixel on the selfie camera and has Snapdragon sound compatibility. Other than that the newer Redmi phone still has the newer specs.
But does it still have a more, optimized, natural-looking photos though?

All 5 from different brands. I think Iqoo would have some too but they don't seem to review many Iqoo phones especially midrangers. Maybe they are available in too few markets

You would almost think Xiaomi finds it cheaper slap a bigger battery in their phones, instead of optimising, because they sell anyhow.
It's ridiculous
We can no longer suggest that Xiaomi doesn't know how to optimise its phones with MediaTek chips. Clearly, it doesn't know how to optimise phones with efficient Qualcomm chips, either. Less than 9.5 hours of browsing might be acceptable for a phone with a 4,500mAh battery, but not with a 5,100mAh battery. Combine that with the high prices, and the Redmi series is no longer a cheap option with excellent battery life, which was its main appeal. Bring on the reviews of the Realme 12 series.
Aierlan, 29 Jan 2024What are you talking about? There are plenty of midrangers with 4.0 or higherI'll gladly take correction show me some please
Wiait a minute it's no 4.0 rating again ahh so there really is a speed limit
Fixed ratings for midrangers no matter what
Don, 29 Jan 2024Considerig the specs it should be 299 euro max.

But my opinion stands, also dear Xiaomi stop with releasing zillion phones with essentially the same name.

But Xiaomi wants to play the big guys game, I won't justify the absurd high Samsung midrange prices, but on Samsung you at least get optimised software and longer support.
Kinda sad Xiaomi goes that route, Redmi phones were solid but I remember Poco phones being way cheaper than this, 449 euro for a Redmi is laughable.
Another unoptimised Xiaomi phone (with this size the battery life should be better)
It's like Xiaomi doesn't care lately.
Phone looks fine, but when I saw it starts at 449 euro in my country, I started to laugh.
