It comes with 2 app of the same kind, for letting users pick which one to use. Some prefer xiaomi apps, because they offer more features, generally, but some like the stock look from google's own apps
I prefer xiaomi apps so it's fine if my phone doesn't have a files, phone, sms or gallery app from google. Play Store is better tho, but it's nice to have another app store
As for other third party apps, found that they can be easily deleted (Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat etc)
Maybe the better choice is still 13T
It's the first time i like the photos taken by a Xiaomi smartphone. Not sure why but to my eyes those images look like they have better processing than older Xiaomi devices despite all the issues mentioned in the review. That's a nice step forward. That's my opinion as a Pixel 7 user.
Just wait Poco X6 pro. This one have even slower soc than poco F4 sd 870. Not to mention Poco F5 which is a beast. That 200mp camera cant have great image processing with poor chipset. Plus old Android 13 and terrible speakers.
Well for that price you should better go for Nord 3 for a much better performance and ploished experience.
didn't xiaomi drop the "mi" logo ???
Muthu, 08 Jan 2024It does not have good specs. The SoC Dimensity 7200 does not belong to this price range phones... moreYour agreeing with me
I said it's not value for money
These specs are good, your just saying at this PRICE it's not worth it but this chipset isnt horrible
The 8200 would be better of course
Muthu, 08 Jan 2024It does not have good specs. The SoC Dimensity 7200 does not belong to this price range phones... moreI agree about including a 50MP sensor instead. I've never been happy with Samsung sensors; I had a Galaxy S21 and a Mi 11 Lite 5G. Give me a Sony sensor any day. Thankfully, we still have the likes of OnePlus and Realme offering Sony sensors, as well as superior UIs (even though OxygenOS is dead and ColorOS is the same on OnePlus, Realme and Oppo devices).
Petri S, 08 Jan 2024I appreciate your point and idea about why cameras often performs different in India vs EU. I ... moreYeah. When traffic got reduced during the pandemic, photos taken of Los Angeles and New Delhi looked like as if a veil had been lifted.
Indeed, particulate matter scatter light.
Muthu, 08 Jan 2024It does not have good specs. The SoC Dimensity 7200 does not belong to this price range phones... moreSince when SoC dictates how much phone should cost?
The vanilla 13 lacks stereo speakers, and the 13P+ has a curved display and is too expensive. The 13P seems to be the most attractive option out of the three variants.

I still get great photos with my old Redmi Note 8 Pro here in Finland with zero pollution but I don't think the results would be the same in India. I've seen very different results also with Motorola Edge 40 & 40 Neo in India vs EU. I didn't understand why but you figured it out: it probably is caused by air pollution.
PS. I have bought a more modern Xiaomi 12 Lite and I get superb photos with it in all conditions here in 🇫🇮, it's a big improvement over the still very good Note 8 Pro.
That over sharpening in videos in probably a mediatek thing, it has happened with other xiaomi phones with mediatek like the Redmi note 10s
ashrobb, 08 Jan 2024I had seen the video judder in some reviews, was expecting them to fix them in these few month... moreFor what it's worth, I think the term should be jitter (the third tree from the left seems to be throbbing!). Judder AFAIK refers to (perceived) frame skipping, e.g. the NTSC judder.
Starting at €449 in my country.
That's too much, there are enough phones that give more value for money, 2023 but also 2022 ones.
200mpx is not enough reason, especially seeing Xiaomi desperately (like many others) put a "3rd" camera being a Macro (ugh)
Even the ultrawide feels like they slapped it there last minute.
The value in Redmi line is kinda gone in EU, maybe that is different in India and China.
There is something very wrong with the camera. The same sensor performs very well in other smartphones.
In fact, I have seen an European review of this phone and camera quality is actually very good.
Would air pollution (India) confuse the post-processing algorithms because pollution is very similar to fog?
Why would anyone in their right mind buy this phone when the 6-month-old Poco F5/Redmi Note 12 Turbo destroys it for less money?
I had seen the video judder in some reviews, was expecting them to fix them in these few months between china and global releases. Unfortunate to see it still remains. The magenta tint is also worrying, maybe you got a defective unit? These Indian units are known to have lower QC than global ones.
Anyway, it seems to be all over the place. It has redeeming qualities, but it is overpriced and bug ridden. A shame, since they used to do all around good and balanced phones like the Note 10 Pro. I used to like Redmi Note phones a lot, but maybe it is time to look elsewhere.
underpowered chipset and old version of android-xiaomi no thank you
