Until you use a phone, you cant really say its that bad, however some of these phone reviewers can sometimes be bias or in some cases not saying everything... However, if i had gone with the reveiews online.. I wouldn't have bought this phone... However before you buy a phone, you should first of all look out for what interests you the most, and aa long as you find those things in a phone. You would be happy using the phone. I used to buy phones based on processor regardless of the screen quality... But since i started using phones with good quality screen, i realized theres a reason you pay more for certain phones than the others, its not just specs alone... Its the whole package you are paying for especially in the software side. However, xiaomi software is fine by me unless i want to be nick picking, the summary of what am saying is this... Buy phones that fulfill your basic needs effectively and not one that fulfill your wants... If that makes sense to you..
KingsleysTech, 01 Oct 2022Woah that is so so bad for a flagship, these Xiaomi phones with SD 888 to 8 Gen 1 have issues,... moreYou're right. The Xiaomi 11 series all have that problem but despite the heat with the snapdragon 8 gen 1 I don't think in general the Xiaomi 12 series have it. The 13 series will also be launched in two months or so. That should be much better than the Xiaomi 12 series for the heating issues and battery life (not sure whether it will be much better than the 12s series though but they didn't get a global launch. The battery life on the 12s series is way better than the 12 series and the heat management is better also)
Anonymous, 01 Oct 2022Here in Serbia 12/256 global version brand new costs around 650 euros. It's amazing value... moreI am from Serbia. Where did you find it for 650e?
I sold my 12X because of the software. MiUI isn't my taste. Although the device itself was perfect!
sohail shafayat, 01 Oct 2022Around 4hrsWoah that is so so bad for a flagship, these Xiaomi phones with SD 888 to 8 Gen 1 have issues, especially SD888 overheating alot to the point of destroying the WiFi receiver & motherboard. I have Mi 11 but want to quickly sell it before I get the problem. Mi 11/11Pro & 11 Ultra all have this issue so have no option but to get Xiaomi 12X/Asus ZenFone 9 or jump to Samsung S21 Ultra/Note 20 Ultra until a new flagship with no problems is launched π’π’

sohail shafayat, 01 Oct 2022Battery life is worse than poorWhat screen on time figures do you get? Sadly any Xiaomi with Snapdragon 888 to Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 doesn't have very good battery life. If you want good to great battery life get Asus ZenFone 9 or Xiaomi 12X with Snapdragon 870.
AnonD-1052719, 01 Oct 2022S21 Ultra.Yes with that Exynos 2100 crap full of Samsung bloatware plus weak signal reception. It's nowhere near Xiaomi 12 pro with built in 15 antennas and 49 bands support.
sohail shafayat, 01 Oct 2022Battery life is worse than poor6 to 7 hours SOT with that kind of usage pattern is not bad for a phone with 1440p display, SD8gen1 and only 4600mah battery.

other 12 series devices has same fate,no one wants to buy them and samsung has better phones at the same prices
Here in Serbia 12/256 global version brand new costs around 650 euros. It's amazing value for money. No other manufacturer can beat Xiaomi in that. π
It is pretty expensive considering Xiaomi is supposed to be a cheaper alt to Samsung whilst giving as much goodies if not more.
The 12 Pro is too darn expensive.
For once, since I switched, I am team Samsung again on this fight.
The reviewers comment about the case is interesting but has an Obvious (so i would have thought anyway..) answer. - cost saving.
They probably could easily add a more premium case to the package but you can bet they'd up the sell price...
AnonD-1066415, 01 Oct 2022You should do more of this long-term reviews. At least for the more known models. I know itοΏ½... more12/256GB new in Indonesia is Rp.13 million (β¬871) Not so bad for the highest variant.
GSMArena rarely do long term cheap phones considering that there are quite a lot of people see it here. I really appreciate it if they make it... especially if they do a review of the top 10 daily hits phones.
Competent, but blah. Foliage feathering and color crush as on all Xiaomis. The price is not competitive with far better phones like the Pixel 6 Pro or even the Apple 13 Max that can be bought for the same price nowadays (cheaper for the P6P).
You should do more of this long-term reviews. At least for the more known models. I know it's time and resource consuming, but it will help our purchases even more.
Especially the software and pricing part are really interesting to see, in time. For example, I didn't know that the 12 Pro cost 25% less than its initial price. I had to look it up and is true, where I live, you can get one, on certain sites, with as low as 800EUR (new). Not bad, when I think about the 1,100EUR initial price for it.
