Been using this for a month. A brilliant phone, perfect size, 450 is very fast with Miui9, battery is about 7h of SOT, which translates to 2 days of use for me. It's just a perfectly sized phone which delivers everything very good. I could have bought Plus, but 5.7 18:9 is the new 5.2" and i love it.
for that prise is good !
Phone battery gets extremely heated if u want to give full charge from empty. My phone get bend while charging due to overheat. But if u charge it at night or early morning, battery don't get overheated. I think this is due to low quality charger and high amp. Except this, the phone is good.
Audio was distorted when recording video in noisy environments such as nightclubs, concerts, etc. I bought the 32/3GB variant and considering the 149 USD price tag it was not an issue for me. If you're a party animal, don't buy this phone.
It's cool & smart.
As a gamer I prefer this version than plus version
Thumbs Up Mi you know how to play the game . lower resolution means better graphical performance . that means it should feel faster than redmi 5 plus . because both have almost same gpu and here the resolution is less that means faster ...
I love this phone
Pasta Strife, 03 Feb 2018Well then go buy a brand new iPhone for less than $200Why? I don't want an iPhone.

AnonD-26314, 30 Jan 2018I think it is inexcusable to launch a new phone on Nougat when it is nearly Feb2018!!This was launched on December 2017 but yeah still I wish it launched on Oreo..
The regular redmi 5 should have had a smaller size screen like 5.5inch.

They should stop releasing so many variants so that they can support a few core models. This works really well for Apple so they can't say it doesn't make business sense.

Noticed the same thing when I've looked to compare it on the batt life chart. In short, it doesn't like there's much of an excuse for Xiaomi to cut down on the batt pack capacity save for trying to score thinness. Highly doubt anything significant in terms of dollar and cent on the -1000mAh cost reduction.
Probably the current shipped software/firmware but it'd be a miracle if the next updates can somehow boost the batt life stats to anywhere >+5 hours.

Battey life is less than ideal, I was hoping for a lot more.
If they used 4000mAh battery instead, the endurance rating would have been 110h. That would have made a phone, already worth buying, even more so.
I really wish they would make a 5" wide screen variant instead. It would be awesome to have a phone that's nice and compact for one hand use.
