El Fernas, 10 Feb 2023Looks like a lot of phone for the price, last year´s high end chipset, decent screen on paper,... moreThis is a proper "budget" flagship, not a midrange. However, it lack a proper wide angle camera and lack a proper telephoto camera, having a useless macro camera, Nlno wireless charging, no proper IP rating.
If you can accept these then the price is an unmatched killer.
I know many will complain on the small internal storage option and limited option for storage, no headphone jack, no Micro SD slot, smaller battery compared to others.
Did they changed the SoC? I thought they were using Dimensity 8200
you have to suffer, 09 Feb 2023still usb 2 unfortunately.USB2.0 is not a problem for many since many don't use it a lot to transfer files, many prefer wireless, use Nearby Share is a lot faster. I know, nobody reject USB3.0, but it definitely will add to the cost. Another usage for USB3.0 is the support for display port 1.4 or HDMI output, only Samsung, Motorola, Huawei smartphone do proper use of the USB 3.1 for HDMI monitor or TV usage.
Looks like a lot of phone for the price, last year´s high end chipset, decent screen on paper, super fast charge, newer 8Gen2 would have increased the price.
wifi 6 ????
The '8+ gen 1' was modified by tsmc, so it's no longer fully Samsung, still, it remains with a lot of heating and throttling problems, so, realme missed it this round, other phones have the gen 2 chip with a similar price
If the rumoured price is correct, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 for €340 would be a great deal. It's definitely a move in the right direction, given that a year or two ago, that money would buy you a Snapdragon 870 which dominated premium midrange devices for quite a while and saw some brands stagnating and releasing refreshed models with the same SoC.
Nice step up in terms of performance. Charging's improved, cameras will be adequate, nothing more (as expected) and Realme's UI is also much better and cleaner than MIUI so this is shaping up to be a very good successor to the GT Neo 3 (80W).

Anonymous, 04 Feb 2023tell me the usb version if this is usb 3+.. this is my next phoneits impossible to get usb3 with the price, and look at xiaomi, they went all out with usb 2.0 to boost the fast charging because the technology is there and cheaper to produce, migrating to usb 3.0 will surely gonna need a need tech, new factory and machinery for that

Other companies might play a different game, but not Realme. It shies away from the number 4.

I have no problem with that since Realme's even-numbered phones are to be skipped.
Realme 3 Pro: good, with IMX sensor.
Realme 5 Pro: good, IMX sensor.
Realme 6 Pro: same old same old, with worse camera (GW1)
Realme 7 Pro: good, with IMX sensor.
Realme 8 Pro: failed product, with 108MP samsung sensor
Realme 9 Pro Plus: good, with IMX sensor
Realme 10 Pro Plus: I don't even know what they're thinking, again with 108MP samsung sensor
I'm happy they skipped Neo 4, but the generation after this one (GT Neo 6) is going to be baaaaad.
tell me the usb version
if this is usb 3+.. this is my next phone
you have to suffer, 11 Jan 2023they skipped the 4. anyways great phone only missing is audio jackthey skipped for 4 because:
>GT Neo 4 launch happens with 4 features
>MicroSD
>Headphone Jack
>No bullsh*t curved
>Dolby Atmos speaker
>regret after very low sales in China even they gave a budget high-midrange.
>skipped 4 to 5
>reverted with GT Neo 3 150W but "major" upgrade (still no microSD and 3.5mm)
