AnonD-289010, 10 Aug 2014Struggling with the logic here. They release it with 4.4.2, which doesn't officially suppor... moreThey should release it with kit Kat. And after 1 month of release they should update the device with L. Users will see a real big bump on experience.
AnonD-135930, 11 Aug 2014If it has 64bit CPU then KitKat can't work on this device, since it doesn't have 64bit support... moreKit Kat natively don't supports 64bit architecture, but with some code alterations it can. Again the s410 chipset is backward compatible with 32bit so native kit Kat 32bit could run in this chipset, though not including the real power of the chipset. Android L runs natively on 64bit so that would be the best Android irritation to work with this SoC.
So HTC making a midrange smartphone with s410. During the unveiling of this SoC Qualcomm said that they targeting the $150-180 range, so a midrange smartphone should carry a s610/615 in which Qualcomm targeting the $250 range. A smartphone powered by S410 should be a low end smartphone
If it has 64bit CPU then KitKat can't work on this device, since it doesn't have 64bit support!!! It's either with Android L or the CPU is not 64bit!!!
Shamefully low resolution, HTC deserves to die..
Who's @upleaks? The new spoiler of any upcoming device or prototype device.
Why is everybody releasing stuff with Android 4.4.2? 4.4.3 and 4.4.4 are very minor updates, mainly including fixes for OpenSSH. There's no way they'd break anything, so why not include those minor (but critically important) patches?
Force Majeure, 10 Aug 2014480x854 res on a 64 bit Snapdragon 810 device? Why would you? Fail comes to mind.speaking in fails: it's snapdragon 410, not 810
Lee erntareid, 10 Aug 2014It is a S410. It is a mid range device.True, it does say 410, but wouldn't a mid-ranger use 610 or 608? :-/

They said samsung was not innovative and stayed with its hideous designs.. What about htc? And all the rest? This is just ugly.. A low end samsung phone looks better.. Htc stopped innovating with the first htc one m7.. Then their designs became worse

AnonD-237024, 10 Aug 2014I wonder how Apple will react to this...HTC and qualcomme react as usually. Apple has no reaction but larger display
I wonder how Apple will react to this...
Looks a lot like BB Z10
Struggling with the logic here.
They release it with 4.4.2, which doesn't officially support 64 bit ARM chips in any way, unless they have modified dalvik with 64 bit support or have switched to ART.
So the 64bit Snapdragon 410 will most likely be running a 32 bit OS, which seems pointless.
Maybe they'll release it with Android L instead and it's just being tested with Kitkat.
I certainly wouldn't call the screen resolution mid range either, that's decidedly low end!
If Snapdragon 410 is going to be 64 bit low and mid ranger I have a feeling 810 might be the high end chip bringing 64 bit to flagship phones coming either in late 2014 or early 2015.
n1. looking forward to seeing how it fares in the performance department.
