Compared to BV100 battery by a BetaVolt company this is tottal garbage at most but still compared to all the competition apart the BV100 by a BetaVolt Company they are very far ahead.
6000+mha is mandatory for any phone in today's scenario with dual sim and 5G video streaming and High quality cameras. Weight doesn't matter for many
Anton .el PAPI., 17 Jun 2024It's time for Apple and Samsung to be displaced along with their duo Polio and Google tooI feel like you're trying to say duopoly but the auto correction to duo polio is fitting since current market is being crippled by the top 2 players lmao.
Modey05, 17 Jun 2024Over the years I raed this type of news and still no dice Do you think this different, I don... moreLook beyond western news sources who are stuck with Apple and Samsung.
Eudaemon., 17 Jun 2024I was gonna buy the OnePlus 12 next week but I guess I'll wait... This could be a massive... moreSame case here ! Waiting to upgrade from my OP7TPRO, better to wait for OP13
naap51d, 17 Jun 2024OnePlus joins forces? Shouldn't it say OPPO (or BBK) joins forces?
Or are we still fal... moreBBK deregistered a year ago or something so Vivo and Oppo are separate operations now. Though Oneplus and realme are under Oppo still.
Oneplus was always Oppo backed just YouTubers misleading people into thinking they're a genuine start up.

Or are we still fal... moreIt's not to pretend they are a 'tiny startup'. More likely because BBK owns all these brands, they decide which one to market new technology with. Oneplus is probably their most popular brand outside of China so they probably expect it to make the most noise but all the other brands will get the same tech as usual.
It's textbook badge engineering. Take a look at cars for reference. Big companies own all the brands now and you can have the same car with 5 different badges, but the marketing will tell you that the brand is innovating because they need to sell it to you, while they have one platform and the same engines and transmissions for all of them and the brands just have to make them look different and do a bit of fine tuning to make them 'feel' different.
Anonymous, 17 Jun 2024and.....? Samsung's battery development have been stagnating for a while. Samsung... moreIts not stagnating. They know exactly what they are doing. Once these companies get to the top they dont need anything more than incremental upgrades every year and people still buying their stuff just for the name. If you want innovations or massive hardware upgrades there are no other choices other than Chinese companies
OnePlus joins forces? Shouldn't it say OPPO (or BBK) joins forces?
Or are we still falling for the "it's just a tiny startup" again?
Everyone knows Oppo builds every OnePlus phone, and has since the OnePlus One,
which was a knock off of the Oppo Find 7.

It's ATL, not CATL. You can see this clearly in the logo on the cover picture. ATL and CATL are two different companies.
FatShady, 17 Jun 2024probably just trying somethings to keep the battery's from overheating, and not what we&#... moreThat reasoning isn't solid
Because in the same ecosystem of news the implication is 6100mah battery smartphone which is a deviation from 5000mah standard
And the implication of this first generation development is that finally the energy density is increasing at lesser weight and size
It is there a small step in the direction of what you are asking
Lastly the elephant in the room.. do you remember smartphone manufacturers collaborating with camera companies?
What are the implications for development for smartphone makers working with a company like Catl that has an entire EV market that is constantly developing batteries.. the same Catl that is working on semi solid state batteries?
Eudaemon., 17 Jun 2024I was gonna buy the OnePlus 12 next week but I guess I'll wait... This could be a massive... moreIt's basically the same tech as honor has been using since the Magic 5 pro. Now other manufacturers are getting on board and they are all coming up with their own names for variations of the same technology.
Modey05, 17 Jun 2024Over the years I raed this type of news and still no dice Do you think this different, I don... moreYes it is already a thing and there are phones you can buy today with that kind of tech from several Chinese manufacturers. Search Silicon carbon batteries if you are interested in reading about the details.
SA466, 17 Jun 2024Samsung was the first company to use stacked batteriesThat is a physical arrangement change not newer chemical approach like what is here
Modey05, 17 Jun 2024Over the years I raed this type of news and still no dice
Do you think this different, I don... moreThis isn't vaporware battery technology of the years prior
Don't confuse your understanding with what's active going on
As we speak smartphones are having 6000mah in 7 + mm bodies
It is now possible for Foldables to be even lighter than iPhones.... Because of new battery technology
Silicon-carbon negative electrode material has objectively been absent in smartphones in the last decades
And now we have really working products of them slowly getting into the market
So I don't know what news you've been reading , but I'd recommend you get up to speed with what's actually going on or leave behind any preconceived ideas
Modey05, 17 Jun 2024Over the years I raed this type of news and still no dice Do you think this different, I don... moreBoth Honor and vivo did succeed in it. Magic 6 Pro have 5600mah battery while vivo X100 Ultra have 5500mah battery at the same size of regular 5000mah battery.
Over the years I raed this type of news and still no dice
Do you think this different, I don't know
SA466, 17 Jun 2024Samsung was the first company to use stacked batteriesI have only used Samsung hot balloon batteries.
