Buy a 3gen older car for the almost same price...makes sense?

Actually it's vice versa. Company wants you to think that the latest one matter so they can sell their new products.
It's true though, tech is indeed evolving so fast, but doesn't mean the old one becomes obsolete, especially based of majority people's usage who only bought those phones only for casual usage. Just because Toyota released the new Camry, doesn't mean my old Camry becomes irrelevant.
Tbh I agree though that it's a bit overpriced.

As long as this phone is not over €700, this is a good phone. Should be better than the vanilla Razr 50 for the same price, if it is roughly the same price.
A.C, 12 Jun 2024I mean, if they made it cheap enough (like around ~600-700 EUR), this might be reasonable. The... more600-700?

Release a cheaper snapdragon 6 variant and it will be a hot seller

Make it ... moreI mean, if they made it cheap enough (like around ~600-700 EUR), this might be reasonable. The Magic Vs2 (also with SD 8+ Gen 1) was launched at around 900 EUR, so there are hopes.
Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is still a powerful chipset to have in 2024. I want more phones with USB-C 3.1/3.2 and wired video output alongside Desktop Mode, foldable phones included. Only Motorola did it with the RAZR 2022. Samsung missed a step with the Galaxy Z Fold5 by not putting DeX in it.
