Sadly, one crucial weakness is that this model doesn't have cellular connectivity.
It's just an only disadvantage, but pretty much the most crucial disadvantage.
Hope the Lenovo will add the cellular into next gen of this Y700 tablet, and retain its "small" screen size as well.
I love that we have the first tablet that has more than 1 IO port, realistically tho this should be default on 99% of tablets tbh given how much screen & body real estate there is, but what Lenovo fails to realize is that its a gaming product.... every other legion product they make or realistically gaming oriented product on the market has a headphone jack.... Its there for fidelity & zero latency.... Its wild that they simply refuse to put one on this like they did a few years back.... such a bad marketing move imo...
I just saw the price on Lenevo Germany site. 630€ (12/256 trim) I would normally justify the price comparing it to the 256 GB variant of the Ipad mini but the software support kept me from doing so. Will buy it nevertheless :D
[deleted post]its cost probably 100 to make that tablet, including R&D and advertising and transport so at the end its never ending question: do you want to sell one big cake or few smaller?
You can sell that tablet for 600$ and sell just eg 10k and after year you will need to drop price to sell ones that take dust in some hangar, or you can drop it down from the start and sell 15-20K(just example numbers)
soo, uhhh 599 euro huh. the price for warranty is really something i guess. let see how much the price in here. the average 3rd party shop's price are $424 (converted).
I love this tablet and I love this move. However this tablet is DOA at this price. Giztop has the 2 variants for €399 and €499 respectively. I have the original Y700 and I still use it every day. I'm still planning to buy the 16 / 512 version.
This is way, way too much for a device with no fingerprint reader. And Lenovo can't hide behind 'its a gaming device' either, because if it was actually a gaming device it would have a 3.5mm port because basically every mobile focused headset out there still uses this connector (so with this your choices are Bluetooth that doesn't work, an adapter that will last all of 2 weeks at best or buying a new headset you shouldn't need to begin with because audio equipment isn't supposed to go obsolete). I'm not denying the utility of 2 USB-C ports, but there really should be a 3.5mm port too (and ofc there's general disappointment that it's just a Y700 23 edition and they didn't update the specs given the target audience would actually care about that especially for 600 euros).
I'll probably end up begrudgingly buying it because it's literally the only non iPad small tablet with reasonable specs, but I still don't like any of it.
OK, Aliexpress for 400€ it is then! :)
rahlquist, 14 Mar 2024The screen in the Go is the screen from the Y700. So, no, not better. Exactly the same. It doesn't change the fact that the Legion Go is far superior to this as a gaming device. There no competition whatsoever

Anonymous, 14 Mar 2024Can't see any reason why this being stupid as there are still huge market for Android tablets.Cause they market it as a gaming tablet. If you want a gaming tablet, the Legion Go makes circles around this. It has a better screen, a more powerful chipset, a built in kickstand, detachable joypads, more ram, bigger ssd, an active cooling system, and it comes with a dedicated case. At the same price. Make your own conclusions

And with only 6550 mah battery its gonna get 2hr battery life if it can even sustain 12w.
i have the previous version (sd870), they should make the size of ipad mini, the only thing i complaining about

Accessing the content is far more important than looking at the "smooth" scrolling.
HyperionBurn, 13 Mar 2024although 8+ gen 1 is almost 2 years old, its still like pretty much capable for anything Even for average consumers, that is still plenty overkill for everyday social and web browsing use. That's why I'm happy to see Lenovo put USB3 with DisplayPort support on this tablet. Lenovo's PC Mode is on par with the likes of Samsung DeX and Motorola Ready For, to name just two.
I would definitely consider buying the official UK version I used it for couple of weeks before giving it to my son and it fly's through every task. Even might photo shop stuff and doing CAD on AWS with the Lenovo keyboard made my life easy when on site
I bought mine the 2023 16gb 512gb var from AliExpress for £320 i de-bloated the Chinese software of it, (it was for my 10 years old son) who's mum won't allow him to have an Xbox so I play cloud gaming with him a few hours every weekend... he loves the speed and storage and he said it has better cameras than his phone, he's able to screen share and steam his gaming to me while having a video call it's not let him down yet.
Great tablet, but IMO the way they market it as a gaming tablet is unnecessary. There are many other use cases for such a compact tablet other than gaming.
But this is coming from someone who rarely games on mobile, let alone would ever think of installing those emulators or whatnot.
