Kuyun, 14 Mar 2024Bruh i just bought Xiaomi 14 Pro 2 weeks ago. Now snapdragon 8s gen 3? ๐Which phone was your old one
Kuyun, 14 Mar 2024Bruh i just bought Xiaomi 14 Pro 2 weeks ago. Now snapdragon 8s gen 3? ๐Apparently the Snapdragon 8S gen 3 will be a bit better than the 8 gen 2 but not a good as the 8 gen 3, but still pretty strong and supposedly that chip will be in the Redmi Note 13 Turbo that is rumored to be under $400.
Kuyun, 14 Mar 2024Bruh i just bought Xiaomi 14 Pro 2 weeks ago. Now snapdragon 8s gen 3? ๐Look at the specs for the 8s gen 3: "2.9Ghz and Adreno 735". Your phone w/ 8 gen 3 is better.
I hope it comes in a new color

Your choice fellas. Either way, holy moly what did I just read
Anonymous, 11 Mar 2024the thing with binning is that you can't change the inherent architecture behind the core... moreLet's say we replace the plasma cutters with conventional laser once and for slices we take pure natural diamonds will still your QA be able to say the endurance difference rather than performance difference with a benchmark test. As sustainability ll have an edge with GPT application.
Lonteku , 11 Mar 2024The question is did Qualcomm abandoned 6 and 4 series? The last was 6 gen 1 and 4 gen 2. No wo... moreFunny story SD 4 Gen 3 should come this year and SD 7s Gen 2 was SD 6 Gen 2 in fact. They replaced it for a future one.
SD 2 series is the one who got abandoned.
Lonteku , 11 Mar 2024The question is did Qualcomm abandoned 6 and 4 series? The last was 6 gen 1 and 4 gen 2. No wo... morecant wait for them to come back and name the new mid range soc the "Snapdragon 6 pro max ultra gen 2 AI 5G ii"
The question is did Qualcomm abandoned 6 and 4 series? The last was 6 gen 1 and 4 gen 2. No wonder mediatek eating out Qualcomm market share at middle and low end.
deboonker, 11 Mar 2024Please don't spread misinformation and lies again, it's clearly two different chips ... moreoh damn, i didnt know that lol, i heard other people saying it was that and thought it was true
AnonD-1148255, 11 Mar 2024Speaking with a rudimentary knowledge in the subject (may be) their is one only way a processo... morethe thing with binning is that you can't change the inherent architecture behind the cores
so let's see a chip is stress tested and inspected in factory whether they can go up to 3Ghz or not for example, if they can that chip become 8s gen 3 if they cannot? 7+ gen 3 it's that simple, the peak is trimmed for uniformity so your chip might be able to go higher but they take account for the lowest acceptable clock speed
however the underlying architecture change between cocktex X3 and X4 is not simply a binning, it's a design standard by ARM which get updated regularly
Anonymous, 11 Mar 2024'Upgraded' cores with same 4nm fab ? I smell more power drainno the newer cores should be better in efficiency if anything
Anonymous, 11 Mar 2024is it is they use new core systems???? core x3 and x4 what the different????Speaking with a rudimentary knowledge in the subject (may be) their is one only way a processor is different from other is via binning process similar in SOC & industrial(a shot in PI moulds), so each one is unique, and then there are ladders which decides the segregation, mostly the second best lot is brought by arms manufacturing content of which now remain in east.
Or it could be about Snapdragon X Elite since March 21st Microsoft is holding the Surface event where they likely are showing off machines using it?
Anton el .PAPI, 11 Mar 2024I miss the days when it was just one processor for everything! and readyWell QC have a serious competitor mtk I guess it targets a wider price range
Exshitnos crave to compete but greatly fail are it every year ( thiss one is jff)

I think I understand the "s" in the Snapdragon chips now, it stands for "slow".
the 7 (slow) gen 2
the 8 (slow) gen 3.
HyperionBurn, 11 Mar 20248s gen 3 is overclocked 7+ gen 3 which is underclocked 8 gen 2 So does that mean, sd 8 gen 2 is just a rebranded sd 8s gen 3
