I prefer MediaTek SoC's above Snapdragon SoC's. I've had multiple devices powered with a MediaTek SoC and they perform good! Especially if you also look at the price.
If you compare MediaTek with other Chinese brands SoC's like Rockchip or Allwinner, MediaTek is the best! It's a true competitor for Qualcomm.
Anonymous, 27 Feb 2022It would makes more sense to put Dimensity 9000 in the vanilla find x5. It wouldn't because the Dimensity 9000 is better than the 8 Gen 1. While performance is almost matched, the Dimensity is much more efficient and doesn't throttle as much as its peer.
yeah ppl but u will have to buy china ersion to have dimensity.. but ppl from outside china will have just snapdragon which is not worth.. u can go ahead n buy samsug instead..
Nick Tegrataker, 26 Feb 2022From what I have seen most OIS on phone cameras are capable of compensating for hand movement ... moreIt is simply marketing and manufacturing cost saving ... yet phone will cost crazy grand price not worth...

Please India in com to lunch date please i want to phone me
Kev, 25 Feb 2022People, it isn't like this Find X5 Pro has NO stabilization; Samsung made no claims about... moreFrom what I have seen most OIS on phone cameras are capable of compensating for hand movement up to 1/4~1/3 second, or half a second if you're being extremely careful. On the other hand, my iPhone 13 Pro equipped with sensor-shift IS has no trouble opening the shutter for 1-2 seconds without blurring the frame when handheld. Oppo's so-called "5-axis OIS" is essentially a combination of OIS and sensor-shift IS, and I believe that the difference between that and a regular OIS will be literally night and day, especially in low light.
The lack of the MariSilicon imaging chip would degrade the image quality a lot. Advanced noise reduction algorithms would be unavailable in D9000 variant, hence worse nighttime photo/video quality. The selfie camera will be also worse since it uses an older RGB sensor instead of the new RGBW one. Oppo gimped the Dimensity variant in every way possible, which is very disappointing.
JayrBars, 25 Feb 2022Im not sure, but are they trying to make d9000 look bad? No ois, mari etcI assume that the MariSilicon ISP chip isn't optimized for Dimensity chipsets. But hey, that's my guess.

tekina, 25 Feb 2022Wow, they gimped the camera completely. There is no point in buying the phone without the OIS,... moreWould be QC doing an intel?
Persuing OEMs to cap as much as they can the competition's machines in order to make their own look better?
Oppo release a fake version contain dimenisty 9000 chip...
Why Release it????
If miss Marisilicon x chip,5-axis stabilization and hasselblad color calibration.....
I don't understand...
I understand this .Oppo need to beat Dimenisty version by snapdragon 8 version..
Very unsatisfied to oppo decision...
Muthu, 25 Feb 2022I am not going anywhere. When will the Dimensity 9000 powered Oppo Find X5 Pro be launched int... moreIt is just for China.
Kev, 25 Feb 2022People, it isn't like this Find X5 Pro has NO stabilization; Samsung made no claims about... more1) super steady of samsung only works for the 13mm camera. It applies huge crop (FOV becomes 26mm) and this drops video to FHD (4K + 2x zoom is FHD). The more you crop, the stronger is the EIS.
2) Find X5 Pro D9000 has OIS, but same kind used by X3, while S8g1 has better OIS paired with sensor shift (sensor shift is not OIS).
Anonymous, 25 Feb 2022Why make the Dimensity version worse? I smell something fishy and it smells like Qualcomm.Qualcomm cannot meddle in the decisions of major smartphone makers (like BBK, Xiaomi, Samsung etc) related to the features/price of phones powered by competing brand SoCs. If they tried doing that, they would be shown the middle finger by the smartphone makers. Qualcomm can demand more money from companies who order less quantity of SoCs from them and for 5G licensing etc. But they cannot dictate terms to OEMs on features/price of the smartphones.
I posted the below points in another post and I guess that would be more relevant to your question.
Why is the price cut for the Dimensity version so low when compared to SD 8G1 version even though multiple corners were cut? Is it because Dimensity 9000 is more expensive than SD 8G1? Or is it because it is not available in sufficient quantities, to dissuade as many people as possible from ordering one, the price is set too high by Oppo?
My guess is that Dimensity 9000 is not available in sufficient quantities, so Mediatek/Oppo are trying to hide that by setting the price too high and dissuade as many people as possible from ordering one. Dimensity 9000 would score greatly in benchmarks, and Mediatek will claim victory over Qualcomm in marketing their flagship SoC prowess. But in real life, it will be useless because it won't be available in sufficient quantities for people to buy phones using that SoC.
And this is purely speculation from my point of view. If Mediatek proves me wrong, we (customers) all would be better off for that. Qualcomm needs better competition and their monopoly in making flagship Android SoCs should be challenged. Unfortunately, Samsung is losing that battle steadily in the last few years. If Mediatek can provide competition, it is better for us (the consumers).

Anonymous, 25 Feb 2022Where are those fake 'dimensity' guys nowI am not going anywhere. When will the Dimensity 9000 powered Oppo Find X5 Pro be launched internationally? How many units will be made available? Why is the price cut for the Dimensity version so low when compared to SD 8G1 version even though multiple corners were cut? Is it because Dimensity 9000 is more expensive than SD 8G1? Or is it because it is not available in sufficient quantities, to dissuade as many people as possible from ordering one, the price is set too high by Oppo? How many other phones have been launched and made available with Dimensity 9000?
And don't ASSUME that Dimensity 9000 will be better than SD 8G1 just because it uses superior TSMC 4nm node. Designing a flagship SoC is not an easy task and Mediatek can mess up in any of the other aspects (memory controller, cache etc) of designing the SoC. Until we get to see detailed reviews of the phones powered by Dimensity 9000, the judgement about it being better than SD 8G1 should be on-hold. And, before we talk about all of those points, let the phones with that Dimensity 9000 be made available to international markets first, then we can talk. Until then, it is close to vaporware only.
