well, seemed like that's the best HTC company can do for Desire HD phones. very sad to hear that from a very competitive company. well maybe that's their way of treating loyal HTC customers. "no more upgrades, more disappointed customers." good strategy HTC!
HTC should understand the needs of their customers from the products they offer by providing continouos upgrades, that way we feel that we are valued. consistency is what we're looking for.
years from now, new HTC phones will likely to have the same problem. Feels so bad, and it keeps me away from buying new handset from HTC.
HTC, you broke my heart.
Like many other DHD users i was eagerly awaiting an update but... HTC Desire HD will NOT get the ICS update.it has been scrubbed from the list details on GSM Areana page http://www.gsmarena.com/android_40_ics_is_officially_a_no_go_for_htc_desire_hd_-news-4549.php
I read somewhere at forum@xda-developers.com that rooted device can not be update with next official ICS, even if it can it will brick the device. Is it true?
digital love, 11 Apr 2012when is ICS update coming for DHD???The official ICS update for the Desire HD is coming out on September 2012.
Yeah!
The power of Android!
*thumbs up*
desire hd is 1.5y old :) "ageing" because of the very fast technology evolution, but still a top smartphone! :)
when is ICS update coming for DHD???
I'm sorry gsmarena, this news is so outdated!
forreal?, 10 Apr 2012as far i know, unofficial ROMs are tweaked and even have better performance than official ones. This ROM is a base ROM. Nothing special has been added other than tweaks to actually make it work. Once they have everything working then they will add the optimization features :D
molotofc, 10 Apr 2012All the unofficial ICS ports to the older Android phones are lagcity2000.
Pointless.as far i know, unofficial ROMs are tweaked and even have better performance than official ones.
Same for Incredible S, no camera, no WiFi Hotspot, no USB Tethering... :(
Keep up to date with ICS releases on the official HTC Blog http://blog.htc.com/2012/03/ics/

Anonymous, 10 Apr 2012ugh been using this crappy port since january (aosp) and now with sense4 but still garbage -no... moreYou can try cm9 with LG camera App its working fine
ugh been using this crappy port since january (aosp) and now with sense4 but still garbage -no camera, no bluetooth, no gps, no tethering, and lots of stuff isnt working.
The desire hd & desire s will be getting official updates. HTC have already announced that along with the incredible s & sensation models.
This unofficial ROM is just giving people a choice & a chance to get the features sooner if they want to. This kind person who has ported this custom ROM does not work for HTC. He is using his spare time to do it.
By him choosing to do this does not mean HTC are no longer rolling out the official version of Icecream sandwich.
Camera do not work? The camera is one of the more important parts so if it were easy to fix it then I am sure it already would have been fixed!
^_^, 10 Apr 2012Same issues we're having with the Galaxy W...Nope its officially announce by HTC that they will update the desire s.
Keep waiting.... In one year that i have been using Nokia c7 got upgraded from os3 to anna to belle not to mention minor upgrades....may be will Carla as well....
