The Sony HX400v is about the same, but it has a hotshoe
I'm not a professional photographer in any sense, but I do enjoy taking pictures. I'm in the market for a powerful camera which has a decent range of useful features.
With that being said, I'm curious as to how the Cyber-shot HX350 compares to the Nikon COOLPIX P900? I was actually planning to purchase the P900 in the next couple of weeks or so as the reviews have been pretty good.
While image quality is of the utmost importance, optical zoom is very important to me as well. That's why I'm considering the P900. It appears to offer great results in both regards.
Anyone here have experience with the Nikon P900, or have an opinion on it?

mir, 23 Dec 2016You're talking as if you've already used this camera.Im talking about not getting good pics with that much zoom with such a tony sensor. Look at the other cameras mentioned below, sony rx10-3 and panasonic fz2500, much bigger sensors, massively superior optics, much less zoom and STILL they struggle at max zoom. you dont think this is magical now do you?
amazing !!!! this camera is fantastic ! wow cybershots series always make wonder !
"so a 1 inch sensor??? they should have atleast a micro-third sensor."
lol, u must be joking, do you even know who optics work ?
the weight and price of a 24-1200mm lens for 4/3 (camera not even important in this discusion) would be beyond anything doable
this is just a 3x tele zoom: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/explora/photography/news/unveiled-panasonic-super-telephoto-zoom-longest-native-lens-available-micro-four
would not even want to know a 50x zoom :))
this camera has a tiny sensor, only 1/2.3", just like a mobile camera. for a 20MP camera it requires a minimum 1" sensor
Nice camera Sony,,, USA pleaze '!
Anonymous, 23 Dec 2016Noooo! Its not even 1"! Its an 1/2.3 sensor at only 6.17 x 4.55 mm, its Uselessness Redefined!... moreYou're talking as if you've already used this camera.
Anonymous, 23 Dec 2016The display is a 4:3 with 640x480. Thats 921,600 dots. RGB you know, 3 dots per pixel. Anyway,... moreI know It's not relevant to the camera taking at all. It is required for VIEWING the image. XD
Regardless. I do understand though that the camera is excellent
Anonymous, 23 Dec 2016so a 1 inch sensor??? they should have atleast a micro-third sensor.Umm you really don't know what you are talking, do you? 4/3 sensor with 50x optical zoom in this price range and size, really? Please have the info on how optics/physics work.
I don't know much about cameras, but I thought Exmor RS was the successor of Exmor R and even older Sony phones have Exmor RS, so why does this only have Exmor R??
Genza, 23 Dec 2016In my opinion RX10M3/RX10M2 is better than any superzoom from panasonic. Its good too but now were talking enthusiast high end zoom. I dont like Sonys many picture flaws due to digital overprocessing, plus panasonic fz2500 cost a little less, and my own preferenxes aside: was rated in front of rx10-3 by imaging-resource and awarded Best Enthusiast Zoom of 2016. That aside again, i still prefer aps-c system camera for zoom, less zoom but much more sensor, plus the optic stabilizers can actually do their job at more modest zoom levels.

AnonD-234645, 23 Dec 2016Hmm... so the screen used has an HD resolution. because. the mentioned dot amount is 921k. and... moreThe display is a 4:3 with 640x480. Thats 921,600 dots. RGB you know, 3 dots per pixel. Anyway, if you think high display resolution is giving you better photos youre sadly mistaken and do not need a camera at all.
Hmm... so the screen used has an HD resolution. because. the mentioned dot amount is 921k. and 720x1280=921,600 it seems. otherwise. THIS CAMERA IS FOR ME! COME TO PAPAAAAAAAAAAA! ♥

And iso 12800 at that sensor size, its a bad joke, nothing more. Panasonic is the only way to go for ok superzoom, or settle for less zoom and get aps-c with like 300mm equivalent, doesnt sound impressive on paper but at least photos come out fully useable.
so a 1 inch sensor???
they should have atleast a micro-third sensor.
Great. It is for me
