Publicly Available Trade Database Reveals Google Has Partnered With TSMC For Tensor G5 Chipset

Google’s upcoming Pixel 9 series has yet not been launched and the tech town is buzzing with the news of the Pixel 10 series the reason is the Tensor G5 chipset that can power it and is tipped to be developed independently by Google.

As of now, the Google Tensor chipset has been developed in collaboration with Samsung’s silicon division. It did save the company’s time and money as chip development is itself a high investment work but it also had to suffer on the grounds of thermals and efficiency.

This won’t be the same for long as recently Android Authority has found out in publicly available trade databases that Tensor G5 can be manufactured by the TSMC which will make this chipset the first from the company to be developed without the help of Samsung.

As per the available database, the chipset has appeared with the codename “LGA” abbreviated codename of the Tensor G5, “Laguna Beach, It directly mentions TSMC and InFO POP, a packaging technology exclusive to TSMC.

More such technical things are there that say the chipset is the earliest available chipset. It also mentions the chip has 16GB of package-on-package RAM thus suggesting that Pixel 10 can come with the 16GB RAM.

This available trade database reveals about the content that has been sent by the exporter mentioned by Google LLC in Taiwan to the importer company Tessolve Semiconductor in India. This company is specialized in testing and verifying semiconductors. It does show a shift of responsibility from Samsung and Google’s plan to develop the Tensor G5 without any help from Samsung. This might be the first claim that has been made from the publicly available evidence though this is not the first time when someone has said this.

Earlier this year a report by Economic Daily mentioned that Google has handed over its self-developed version of Tensor to KYEC. The KYEC provides testing services for new chips headed to manufacturing in Taiwan.

The report also mentioned that Google has been involved in purchasing required hardware for chip testing at KYEC. We are still months away from the launch of the Pixel 10 series though it’s worth waiting here when the whole tech town will witness Google doing it.
