NASA discovers cat hair on Mars?

Recently, NASA’s Mars Perseverance Rover’s 12th sample from the Red Planet was stored and sealed for possible future recapture and journey back to earth.

The team then had taken images of the drill and sample collection system components. It surprised the team when they witnessed something unusual there which resembles cat hair.

NASA in a blog post said that in those images, two small pieces of debris were visible- a small object on the coring bit and a small hairline object on the drill chuck.

NASA also confirms that the team is now looking into the origin of the debris. At the same time, the agency will investigate whether the debris originated from the rover or external debris from the entry, descent, and landing system, which was dumped at the start of the mission, HDTech reports.

The Rover team also plans to take pictures of the area on the ground where the core sample was taken to search for any additional fibers or rock fragments that might help to illustrate the story behind the cat fiber-like substance.

Over this weekend, NASA anticipated these imaging data finalizaton.
