Former NASA astronaut declares that the Sun is actually white!

Former NASA astronaut Scott Kelly affirms that the Sun’s actual colour is white, not yellow. The reason behind this is the physics of lights. The Sun generally looks yellow due to a strange play of physics of light that makes the sun look yellow.

Also, due to the atmosphere, the sun looks yellow. The sun appears yellow due to our atmosphere. But as soon as you leave the Earth’s atmosphere, the Sun appears to be white in colour rather than yellow colour.

Accordingly, human eyes can’t perceive a singular colour of the sun because of the amount of sunlight which saturates the photoreceptor cells in our eyes. This makes all the colours to be mixed together in our eyes and when every colour of the light gets mixed, you end up with white. Hence, the sun appears yellow on Earth and white in space, the atmosphere plays an important role in deciding the colour of the Sun.
