Xiaomi is reportedly working on the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro smartphones for the Chinese market. Both phones are expected to debut as the world’s first phones featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip in October of this year.
The latest leak by tipster Digital Chat Station suggests that the upcoming Xiaomi 15 Pro will feature a square-shaped camera module in the upper left corner of the back panel. Additionally, the flash will reportedly be relocated outside of the deco module.
A 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens are reportedly part of the camera setup. Moreover, there will be a circular surround design for the new camera module.
To recall, the Xiaomi 14 Pro featured a pair of Samsung JN1 50-megapixel sensors for both the ultra-wide and periscope telephoto cameras. However, the latest leak indicates that the upcoming Xiaomi 15 Pro will deviate from this setup. It remains uncertain whether both the ultra-wide and periscope cameras will adopt different camera sensors, or if only the periscope zoom unit will undergo this change.
As the launch of the Xiaomi 15 series is a couple of months away, the rumour mill has been gradually leaking details about it. While Xiaomi is reportedly testing the 15 Pro with an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, there is no information available about its other specifications. While the Xiaomi 15 is expected to feature a 6.36-inch OLED screen with support for 1.5K resolution, the 15 Pro’s OLED panel may produce a 2K resolution. However, there is no information about its display size.
