Anshu Jain, former CEO of Deutsche Bank, passes away at 59

After a five-year battle with cancer, Former CEO of Deutsche Bank, Anshu Jain takes his last breath on Saturday. He dies at the age of 59.

The bank in a statement said that Jain had an important role in the development of Deutsche Bank and was active in building the company’s global capital markets business.

In 2009, Jain was appointed to Deutsche Bank’s Management Board and was responsible for the Corporate and Investment Bank division from 2010. He was the CEO from 2012 to 2015.

Alexander Wynaendts, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Bank, says that Anshu Jain played a key role in expanding Deutsche Bank’s position in our global business with companies and institutional investors. He further said that today, this is of strategic importance not just for Deutsche Bank, but for Europe as a financial centre.

Christian Sewing, the current CEO of Deutsche Bank recalls that anyone who had worked with Anshu experienced a passionate leader of intellectual brilliance. He further believes that his energy and loyalty to the bank left a great impression on many of them.

Anshuman Jain was born on 7 January 1963. He was an Indian-born British business executive. From 2017 to 2022, he was the president of the American financial services firm Cantor Fitzgerald.
