The Guardia Svizzera Pontificia (GSP), responsible for protecting the Pope and the Papal Palace in Vatican City, has discovered a trustworthy technological collaborator in Knox Suite–Samsung's adaptable security platform for managing mobile devices–due to its various benefits. The platform has been developed to facilitate IT administrators in securing, deploying, and managing devices in a manner that caters specifically to their business needs.

How the Vatican Army strengthened its security measures with the Knox Suite

The Knox Suite platform presents ample capabilities for system administrators to effectively manage and monitor all devices used by the GSP remotely. This includes features such as erasing data in case of a device is lost or stolen, along with customization of device configurations and functionalities to align with the Vatican's security needs. Additionally, in high-risk scenarios, the Suite proves to be a critical tool for the GSP, allowing for the immediate sharing of threat information across devices and providing patrol leaders with visibility into the deployment status of all GSP members.

Furthermore, the Knox Suite offers various solutions for enterprise usage, including Knox Mobile Enrollment and Knox Manage. The former allows for easy device enrollment and configuration, while the latter enables the restriction of device content and features remotely. These functions are beneficial for the GSP, as they allow for quick deployment of devices and increased security measures against theft or loss.

As stated by Samsung, the Galaxy Tab Active series, backed up by Knox Suite, offers unparalleled dependability and comes equipped with an IP68 rating to shield against dust and water. The Galaxy Tab Active 2 conforms to the MIL-STD-810G standard, while the Galaxy Tab Active 3 meets the MIL-STD-810H standard. The testing protocol, established by the US military, evaluates device limitations about factors like altitude, humidity, immersion, salt fog, dust, vibration, and drop.

Additionally, officers who engage in planning or administrative work can utilize Samsung DeX functionality on the Galaxy Tab Active 3, which offers a PC-like experience when connected to a monitor or television.
