Samsung Galaxy tablet with model number SM-T545 has bagged Wi-Fi Alliance certification today and this might be the upcoming 10.1-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab Active Pro.
The same model number, along with its variant SM-T547 has been certified by FCC as well. From the Wi-Fi Alliance website, we can infer that the tablet with ship with Android 9 Pie OS and will also support dual Wi-Fi band 2.4GHz and 5GHz. The same tablet had already appeared in a Geekbench listing with model number SM-T545 and the listing confirmed some of the specifications like RAM, processor and OS.
SM-T545 Processor and Battery Information
The SM-T545 tablet will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC and will have 4GB RAM. The clock speed of the octa core processor is 1.71 GHz and this also aligns with the clock speed of Snapdragon 712 SoC. In Geekbench, SD712 is often misrepresented as SD710 so this could well be the first Samsung tablet with Snapdragon 712 SoC.

From the FCC listing, we haven’t got a lot of details other than the battery information. The tablet will be powered by a battery with model number EB-BT545ABY, which already appeared in South Korea’s certification website. The blurred image of the battery pretty much indicated support for a huge 7600 mAh battery. However, in today’s SM-T545 FCC listing, there’s an image that shows battery capacity to be just 1800 mAh, which is quite confusing.
Is it Samsung Galaxy Tab Active Pro 10.1?
Back in the month of June, we spotted a trademark application on the trademark database that Samsung had filed an application for the name “Galaxy Tab Active Pro”. Since there’s already a 8-inch tablet tablet named Galaxy Tab Active 2, which was released in 2017, this moniker suggests the display size could be slightly bigger at 10.1″.

As is the norm, a device that bags Wi-Fi Alliance certification would be released within 4 to 6 weeks from the time it appears on the Wi-Fi website. The approval from FCC pretty much confirms this and it can be expected to be released sometime next time or within the first half of October. Given that the same device appeared in Geekbench benchmarking website about 2 months ago and also in the EEC website before that, this tablet can be expected anytime soon.
