Unisoc T760 SoC Launched in India: A New Budget 5G Chipset

Unisoc has launched its latest budget 5G System on a Chip (SoC), Unisoc T760, in India. Unisoc might not be a popular name compared to Snapdragon or Mediatek, but its chipsets power some of the best-selling budget smartphones such as Realme C35, Realme Narzo 50i, Infinix Smart 8 HD, Tecno Spark Go and more.

Unisoc focuses on the ultra-budget segment, and with this new chipset, it plans to add to the growing 5G smartphone market in India. In its portfolio, Unisoc T760 sits above Unisoc T750, previously seen in Lava Yuva 5G in India.

Unisoc T760 Overview

Unisoc T760 is an octa-core SoC manufactured using the 6nm EUV process. It has a layout of 4 big and 4 small cores: 4 x A76 and 4 x A55 cores. It is paired with an ARM Mali G57 MC4 GPU. There’s also a dedicated NPU with 3.2 TOPS performance, giving it better performance than its peers in AI workloads.

Unisoc claims this chipset will score 5,10,000 on average on AnTuTu V10, similar to SoCs such as MediaTek Dimensity 6080 and Snapdragon 4+ Gen 2.

The chipset can support displays of up to Full HD+ at 120Hz and QHD+ at 60Hz refresh rate. It supports cameras of up to 64MP and supports up to 4 cameras. T760 has the Vivimagic 6.0 imaging engine and Acutelogin 3A technology to enhance the camera performance.

Unisoc promises a 37% reduction in power consumption in overall 5G data scenarios and an 18% reduction in power consumption in 5G standby scenarios compared to previous-generation Unisoc chipsets. We will have to test the upcoming phones with this chipset to corroborate these claims.
