Arvind Kejriwal Hearing LIVE Updates: Arvind Kejriwal, who was interrogated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in Tihar jail on Tuesday, has formally been arrested by the agency in the excise policy case. The CBI on Tuesday recorded his statement in connection with the Excise Policy money laundering case.

On Tuesday, June 25, Delhi HC had stayed the trial court order granting bail to Arvind Kejriwal while allowing the ED plea seeking a stay on the Trial Court order in the excise policy money laundering case. Arvind Kejriwal had challenged the Delhi high court order by moving a plea in the Supreme Court.

AAP leader Sanjay Singh on Wednesday said he will talk to INDIA bloc leaders over Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's arrest and request them to raise the issue in Parliament as he accused the BJP-led Centre of misusing probe agencies to target opposition parties.

"I appeal to the INDIA bloc parties to raise the issue related to Kejriwal's arrest in Parliament. We are talking to other opposition parties. I have also talked to Uddhav Thackeray. I will talk to Congress leaders. It is a misuse of probe agencies. All the opposition parties will be requested to raise the issue in Parliament," he said.

The Rajya Sabha MP was asked about the AAP's differences with the Congress and the latter criticising the Kejriwal-led party over issues related to Delhi.

"There can be differences at the state level, but we are together at the national level on the issues of the Constitution, democracy and misuse of probe agencies by the BJP against opposition parties," he said.

The ED on Wednesday told the Supreme Court that the trial court judge was in a "hurry" and did not afford a reasonable opportunity to the prosecutor to oppose Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's bail in a money laundering case linked to the alleged excise scam.

The federal probe agency said the June 20 order of the trial court granting regular bail to Kejriwal was "perverse" for non-compliance of prerequisite mandatory conditions under section 45 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

A vacation bench of Justice Manoj Misra and Justice SVN Bhatti took on record the Enforcement Directorate's reply affidavit filed in Kejriwal's plea challenging the interim stay granted by the Delhi High Court on June 21.

"The CBI took Kejriwal ji to Rouse Avenue Court where his blood sugar level dropped very low. Dictator, no matter how much oppression you inflict, Kejriwal will neither bow down nor break," it said in a post on X in Hindi.

Kejriwal has been in prison since April 1 in connection with the excise policy-linked money laundering case being probed by the ED.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's wife Sunita on Wednesday alleged the whole system was trying to ensure that her husband does not come out of jail and stressed that all this is akin to "dictatorship" and "emergency".

In a post on X in Hindi, Sunita said her husband got bail on June 20 in the excise policy-linked money laundering case and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) immediately got a stay.

"The very next day, the CBI made him an accused. And today he was arrested. The whole system is trying to ensure that the man does not come out of jail. This is not law. This is dictatorship, this is emergency," she said.

"It is not the first time that the CBI has framed someone. They frame those who pose a threat. Misuse of the CBI and other institutions led to voting against the BJP," Yadav said.

Arvind Kejriwal Bail Plea LIVE: The Supreme Court will hear Arvind Kejriwal's bail plea today in the money-laundering case. Here's a chronology of events indicating what happened since last month.

On May 10, the Supreme Court granted interim bail to the Delhi CM till June 1 to campaign in the Lok Sabha polls. The court asked him to surrender on June 2 since last phase of polls took place on June 1. The CM submitted a bail plea urging interim bail extension period by a week on medical grounds. However, his request was rejected and he eventually surrendered before the authorities on June 2 evening.

On June 20, the Supreme Court granted regular bail to Arvind Kejriwal. The next day, the ED approached the high court challenging the trial court's bail order. The high court suspended the bail order until pronouncement on the issue of stay and issued a notice on the agency's plea.

Yesterday, the CBI examined the Delhi CM in Tihar Jail and recorded his statement. On the same day, the Delhi High Court stayed the bail granted to Arvind Kejriwal by the trial court.

The trial court had granted bail to Kejriwal on June 20 in the money laundering case stemming from the alleged Delhi excise policy scam and ordered his release on a personal bond of 1 lakh.

The high court stayed the trial court order on Tuesday, June 25.
