Sharing Pin Boards to other Social platforms.

You can now turn boards into videos with the purpose of sharing on other social platforms to drive Pinterest growth.

The shared boards will feature links that, when clicked, bring viewers back to the complete board on Pinterest, where they can browse through or shop the content.

With Pinterest being a platform of self-expression, could this work?

New Chat Widgets

To encourage more conversations and engagement happening in DMs, Instagram is testing the ability to add widgets to chat workflows. Some of these include:

  • Countdown
  • Time zone
  • Pinned content

Back Dominating The App Download Charts

According to the latest report from Sensor Tower, Instagram was the most downloaded app in Q1, followed by TikTok and then Facebook & WhatsApp.

Automated A/B Variations for Reels

Facebook is testing a new feature to optimise Reels' performance on business pages.

This 'auto A/B testing' creates variants of your Reel ad and distributes them to different audience segments. 

Meta has said: "We'll test different versions of your Reel with various captions and covers and distribute the top performer for you."

Our opinion: Meta wants to keep users on platforms for as long as possible to increase their ad inventory, so ensuring users see content they're most likely to engage with gives them the ability to do this. We expect to see more additions like this to continue impacting users' time spent on the platform and making them automated or AI-driven.

TikTok Goes Full-Funnel

A while ago, TikTok announced 'Out of Phone', which allows advertisers to use creator content on billboards, in-store displays, cinemas and more.

Last week, TikTok launched a new 'Out of Phone: Branded Mission', which combines TikTok's interactive 'Branded Mission' and 'Out of Phone'.

Branded missions are a great way for brands to invite creators to participate in campaigns. Brands can then select their favourite creator videos and amplify them through its ad platform.

Lionsgate was one of the first to leverage this solution with the release of Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. It was activated in the iconic Times Square in New York. The campaign resulted in 14.5M impressions on its TikTok account and 1.5M billboard impressions for a 1-day takeover.
