Exciting developments to share from the dynamic collaboration between SoftBank Group Corp. and Ericsson Japan! 🚀 In a recent Proof of Concept (PoC), we achieved a remarkable milestone—demonstrating the High-speed Automatic Optimization Capability in a commercial #5G non-standalone (5G NSA) network. Key Highlights: 🔍 High-speed Data Acquisition: Network performance data collected at 1-minute intervals. 🔄 Swift Traffic Optimization: Fluctuations detected and optimized in less than 5 minutes. 📈 Performance Boost: Achieved a 53% improvement in 5G NSA downlink speed and a 10% improvement in uplink speed. 🌆 Diverse Environments: Successful evaluations in stadiums, music events, and major railway stations in Tokyo. Ericsson Japan is actively developing the High-speed Automatic Optimization Capability, while SoftBank aims to deploy it in stadiums and event venues nationwide. Future plans include integrating it with 5G standalone networks and collaborating with conventional networks. The introduction of the #RAN Intelligent Controller leveraging #AI/ML for enhanced efficiency is also on the horizon. We had a blast at #ATxSummit, where we explored the next bound of tech development, while balancing growth with sustainability. Earlier today, Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat shared that Singapore will be accelerating efforts in two frontier areas – #AI and Quantum. In the area of AI, DPM Heng announced Singapore's Model Governance Framework for GenAI and our collaboration with Rwanda on a Digital Forum of Small States (FOSS) AI Governance Playbook. In quantum technology, DPM Heng announced an investment of close to $300 million into the National Quantum Strategy that will enhance scientific excellence in high impact areas of quantum research, strengthen engineering capabilities, nurture talent for quantum research and commercialisation, and develop partnerships with industry, for innovation. Additionally, he launched the Green Data Centre (DC) Roadmap to optimise green energy use, energy efficiency and compute capacity in Singapore. Developed in collaboration with industry players across the data centre ecosystem, the Roadmap charts green growth pathways at scale for DCs in Singapore.
