Dream11 continues to break it's own records and set new benchmarks🏆.
IPL 2023 saw a max user concurrency of 10.56 Million, World Cup 2023 broke that record with a max user concurrency of 11.03 Million. Now IPL 2024 breaks these records and set a new benchmark with a peak user concurrency of 15 million on day 1 itself! What next? Of course the expectation is that this record will be broken by the time we reach the finals.
Despite such huge traffic challenges, Dream11 systems continued to support such a scale with a massive preparation lasting 3 months going into IPL 2024.
Every aspect of the infrastructure, architecture, resiliency and scale was reviewed. Systems were reviewed for operational maturity with an objective scale scoring systems basis OCAE for services and their components, external dependencies, failure modes, performance and provisioning.
Multiple synthetic load and fire drills were conducted to test the preparedness of each service, each with their unique performance characteristics. It's been a long journey to reach the level of confidence where we were able to execute a smooth run for the first match.
Kudos to the entire team for getting us here👍👏
