As a long-standing partner of the NAHJ (National Association of Hispanic Journalists), TelevisaUnivision is proud to have been present at NAHJ’s 40th Anniversary Conference and Expo this week. Co-anchor of Univision Noticias, Elian Zidan moderated the official Town Hall meeting, “Election 2024: Empowering Hispanic Voters as AI Amplifies Misinformation”. At a critical moment in this election year, AI and misinformation have grown more prevalent. Zidan and panelists explored how misinformation campaigns target Hispanic communities through social media platforms, messaging apps, and other digital channels, often exploiting language and cultural nuances.

Our Consumer Strategy & Insights team, in collaboration with L2, released new turnout projections which indicate that, on a national basis, 25% more Hispanics are expected to vote nationwide in the 2024 general election than in the 2020 general election – higher than the 19% increase among non-Hispanic voters. Michelle Day, Senior Vice President of the Political Advocacy Government Group shares, “There is more work to do before earning the support of the millions of voters still up for grabs, with many Hispanic voters not completely certain about who they plan to vote for in national and state elections. Campaigns need to utilize Spanish-language advertising to reach and engage Hispanic voters on the issues that matter most to them.”

Mexican music icons Los Tigres del Norte have transcended music to become cultural icons and powerful voices in the fight for social justice, including advocacy around immigration rights.
