Ron Miller’s Post

I find the generative AI prompts that show up in every post now on LInkedIn distracting, clumsy and not very helpful. I get that vendors are trying to figure out how to use this new technology to help users, but I would prefer it if there were a way to shut them off.

I never noticed them til now!

🤔 Would be actually helpful if LinkedIn used them as space for vendors and business pages to insert FAQs for the right persona with relevant target orgs and rolls. LinkedIn kinda already sits on that treasure trove to derive intent from, and suddenly they could sell ad space on organic content with hyper-relevant ads that are less a distraction and more continuation of discovery. Think for any of your colleague’s content, AI suggestions push to TechCrunch content that covers the post’s subjects or deeper dives across Ron’s writings.

Couldn't agree more! I'll add the new 'catch up' notifications to that as well.

Well said. Yesterday I was looking to turn off Google's AI search answers - can't do it. I'm super interested in AI, got my certifications etc, AND it's clear that running it indiscriminately is a huge waste of computational power/water/energy. Shame.

I could not agree more. Also, I strongly dislike Google's search results now.
