There have been many exceptional events in the areas of privacy, AI, and innovation over the past month and I wanted to take a moment to give shoutouts to some of the organizers who work incredibly hard to put these together. Thank you also for showcasing responsible data practices, ethical AI, and the deep importance of privacy. Brian Bryson, thank you and the team at MIT Technology Review for the work you put into EmTech Digital in #Boston. Getting to learn about some of the most thought provoking advances in AI and speaking to exceptionally curious minds was a highlight. Everyone wanted to dig in more and more into each other's work! Karla Yee Amezaga and Cathy LiWorld Economic Forum’s AI Governance Alliance Community Meeting in #SanFrancisco. Getting to discuss AI Governance proposals with experts from around the world and talk about what different jurisdictions are implementing and what we can do better was enlightening and productive. Saima Fancy thank you for organizing our panel at the IAPP last week in #Toronto on practical guidance around data minimization techniques. There were over 20 minutes worth of questions and discussion points from the audience and I think it could have kept going all day! And another highlight of my week were the first PICCASO Canada Awards, held in #Toronto, highlighting the accomplishments of the Canadian privacy community. The energy in the room and the excitement for responsible innovation was palpable. What an evening! Super grateful to have walked out of there with the Privacy Innovation Award for Private AI. Thank you Vivienne Artz OBE FCSI (Hon) CMgr CCMI AIGP and the entire team who put this together. I know I’m missing many more organizers for these exceptionally well organized events - I appreciate you all, thank you for your service to the global communities. You all foster collaborations, build relationships, promote education, and inspire ideas that generate far-reaching impacts beyond what you can possibly imagine.
