We've been following Cartken since its inception .. my latest article provides some new details. For one: new funding in a round led by 486 Capital. But also I talk to co-founders Christian Bersch and Anjali Jindal Naik about how the Cartken sidewalk robots aren't just for sidewalks. https://lnkd.in/g-Nz5kwm

Exciting professional news. #techcrunch is lucky to have hired Sean O’Kane as senior transportation reporter. I’ve followed his career and writing at The Verge and more recently Bloomberg and was always impressed by reporting. I’m looking forward to seeing what scoops come next! Send him your tips!

Lyft kicked off a new feature today in a five U.S. cities that, if successful, could help it attract more women drivers. Right now, just 23% of drivers on the app are women while riders are closer to 50%. The feature lets women drivers make a preference setting that prioritizes women and nonbinary riders. Curious to see if this works. (p.s. Uber launched a similar feature globally in March) check out my story on #techcrunch https://lnkd.in/gg2CSAYT

Uber is expanding its car-sharing service into North America, starting with Boston and Toronto. Really curious to see if this works for Uber because car sharing has proven to be a tough business. This was one of several announcements at Uber's Go-Get event in London, which fellow #techcrunch reporter Paul Sawers covered. My story: https://lnkd.in/gePdj_kw And Paul's! https://lnkd.in/gqstYu-p
