Been going down the cyber insurance rabbit hole today. It's an incredibly inefficient market. Premiums are spicy. And when folks experience a cyber event of any magnitude, they discover their policy turns out to be pretty worthless. Most agents don't understand what they're selling. So it's really in the hands of business owners to figure out who to get guidance from. Not just on policy, but preventative measures. Because again, most claims don't get paid. It's a bit of a mess.

Was just asked to comment on potential lenders for a large healthcare deal. OP is under LOI on a healthcare deal with $10+M in EBITDA, looking for senior debt in the $10-$15M range. Plenty of options re debt, so nothing to add on the lending front. What I did add, though it's a bit tangential, is to make sure to look into the cyber risk of the company during DD. Healthcare has had massive breaches lately and continues to be a target for hackers, so make sure to mitigate the risk you're acquiring during a transaction. Especially since breaches often occur during the integration period post transaction.

Cybercriminals are trying to get you. Act accordingly.

This is serious. The company itself has acknowledged the risk now posed for it's customers: risk from the potential theft of authentication data as well as the possibility of being targeted for social engineering. I'l reiterate here: if you use or have used Dropbox Sign, formerly HelloSign, you need to consider the credentials for that service as compromised and take active countermeasures to prevent yourself from becoming a victim of cybercrime.

Went to extend my stay in Brazil the other day and I was directed elsewhere because their systems are down. They were hacked. Look at the leaks. If anyone knows who's responsible for cybercrime response and prevention in Brasilia, tell them to call ZeroHack. Over 2,275x above average is insane. But you can see it had been trending upward. I bet nobody was monitoring the leaks. Upward trends in leaks result in incidents like this. Every business needs to be paying attention.
