Congratulations to this year’s Arbuckle Award Winner Mary Barra (MBA ’90)! The Arbuckle dinner is a cherished tradition at Stanford University Graduate School of Business, bringing our whole community together to celebrate leaders who demonstrate a commitment both to managerial excellence and to addressing the changing needs of society. Mary’s journey at General Motors began at a stamping plant when she was 18 and a co-op student at what is now Kettering University. She received a GM fellowship to come to Stanford, and upon returning, rose through the ranks to become CEO. She has led General Motors, and the world, toward a more sustainable future with electric vehicles. We have benefited at Stanford from Mary’s service as a trustee and advisory board member. Her experience and advice have been instrumental in shaping our new Business, Government, and Society Initiative. Thank you Mary for your unwavering support of Stanford and inspiring leadership.
Fabulous job I might add…as a Sloan auto person who would know. Classmate and Sloan Weatherbe would agree.
