Henrik shares, "There were a lot of emotions in that moment – realizing not only that I wasn’t going to play, but also that I probably needed surgery soon. It’s frightening, and there is a lot of sadness you have to deal with, but I was happy." His inspiring journey is poignantly captured in the film "Open Heart," now available on Netflix. “This is a BIG DEAL!” Advocate Health Chief Nursing Officer - Southeast Region, Janice Walker pretty much summed it up after Atrium Health Union, along with Atrium Health Union West, Atrium Health Anson and Atrium Health Waxhaw were recognized with the prestigious Pathway to Excellence designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, a subsidiary of the @American Nurses Association, recognizing its commitment to creating a healthy work environment. So why is it such a big deal? The application, review and designation process take years to complete. There are only six other designated Pathway to Excellence facilities in the state of North Carolina (oh and by the way, Atrium Health Cabarrus is one of them). This is also the first time within Advocate Health that multiple hospitals under the same Chief Nursing Officer leadership have achieved this prestigious recognition at the same time. We are dedicated to creating a positive place for nurses to practice, which leads to exceptional outcomes for our patients and the families who support them. It’s about making sure we are supporting our nurses from every angle – encouraging their professional development through career growth opportunities and our extensive professional governance structure, supporting their physical safety and well-being to make sure our nurses are cared for too, and above all else, holding one another to the highest possible standards for nursing excellence. This is what it means to be an Atrium Health nurse. Join our incredible nursing team: https://lnkd.in/gsXihiNr
