We are seeking a skilled Windows System Administrator to join our IT team and support our mission-critical operations.
Job Summary:
The Windows System Administrator will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of our Windows-based servers and systems. This role is crucial in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our IT infrastructure
Key Responsibilities:
Server Management: Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
System Monitoring: Monitor server performance and conduct regular system checks to ensure stability and efficiency.
Security: Implement and maintain security protocols to protect against unauthorized access and potential threats. Conduct regular security audits and manage firewall, antivirus, and other security systems.
Backup and Recovery: Develop and manage backup strategies to ensure data integrity and facilitate quick recovery in case of system failures.
Network Management: Work closely with the network team to ensure seamless integration and performance of networked systems.
Software Management: Install, configure, and update software applications, ensuring compatibility with existing systems and adherence to industry standards.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues promptly to minimize downtime.
Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, changes, and procedures.
Compliance: Ensure systems comply with industry regulations and company policies.
Support: Provide technical support to end-users, resolving issues related to Windows systems and applications.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Windows System Administrator, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
Certifications: Relevant certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, or equivalent.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Windows Server 2016/2019/2022.
Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and other Windows server roles and features.
Knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
Familiarity with backup and recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam, Commvault).
Understanding of network protocols and services.
