Description: TITLE: Vice President of People and Operations REPORTS TO: CEO/President STATUS: Exempt, salaried, full-time LOCATION: Chicago, Illinois, (hybrid/remote schedule) SALARY RANGE: $108,830 - $166,160(commensurate with experience) ABOUT ALL CHICAGO MAKING HOMELESSNESS HISTORY (ALL Chicago MHH): All Chicago MHH’s mission is to unite our community and resources to provide solutions that ensure and sustain the stability of home. On any given night, nearly 6,000 Chicagoans do not have a place to call home. These are our neighbors and together we can ensure that we all have stable homes. All Chicago MHH prevents and ends homelessness through emergency financial assistance, community partnerships, data analytics, and training and research. We strengthen our community’s collective efforts to prevent and end homelessness, guided by a vision of impact, influence, and inspiration. As our name implies, All Chicago MHH brings together homeless service providers, non-profit partners, donors, and people with the lived experience of homelessness in a strategic effort to make homelessness history in Chicago. Position Summary: The Vice President of People Operations provides executive-level leadership and guidance to the organization’s people and operations functions. The Vice President will build innovative programs, implement policies and initiatives that advance the workforce strategy in direct relation to people, culture, and operations. We seek a qualified professional and leader who is passionate about our mission, building leaders and great teams, promoting a culture of diversity and inclusion, and driving operational excellence. This position will be given the opportunity to innovate, build and partner with your executive peers ensuring the development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs of the organization. The Vice President of People Operations will be a critical piece of the executive team to implementing work strategies that will help drive our mission, vision, and values in effort to achieve our overall organizational goals. Position Responsibilities: Reporting to the CEO/President, the VP of People Operations will be responsible for building and implementing strategic best-in class People Operations programs to support our mission, vision, values, and people. Collaborates with executive leadership to define the organization’s long-term vision and goals; identifies ways to support this mission through operations and talent management in relation to our workforce strategy. Management of a small HR and Operations team. Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization’s human resource compliance and strategy needs. Provide guidance and leadership oversight to human resource programs including, but not limited to compensation, talent management, training and development, benefits, leaves, etc., Supports values based, diverse, and inclusive culture that engages employees. Proactively manage and monitor compliance with laws and regulations and company policies and keep current with changes in applicable rules. Ensures the organization develops a balanced, mission-driven culture by strategically gauging staff morale, help to address organizational needs by providing HR solutions, and promoting work-life balance through planned events and wellness processes. Research innovative and promising people capital practices and work with senior leadership to consider new approaches. Plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee operations activities in the organization. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required, Master’s degree preferred. 7-10 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, ideally in a nonprofit environment. The equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred. Current knowledge and understanding of regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments, and applicable laws related to human resources. Strong technical aptitude and experience with HRIS systems. Experience with Paylocity is a plus. Excellent communication skills with the ability to comfortably interact with all levels within the organization. Solid interpersonal skills, professional presence, and ability to interact with a diverse audience. Track record of being self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment is strongly preferred. Excellent organizational and leadership skills. Passion for inclusivity and diversity, and interest in being part of a multicultural team. Good working knowledge/skills with Microsoft Office Suite of products including, but not limited to, Word, PowerPoint, Excel required.
