Galaxy Group is looking to add a Vice President of Engineering to our growing team. Working out of our Winfield, Kansas facility, the VP of Engineering will lead the group’s Engineering, Planning, and Programming functions. Serving as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, this role serves as a partner to our Operations teams driving automation and capital improvements throughout the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Manufacturing Excellence: Develop plans and procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations, ensuring products conform to established customer and company quality standards. Oversee machine monitoring, standardize programming and setup procedures to optimize efficiency and consistency in manufacturing processes.
Leadership and Mentorship: Lead, train, and mentor the engineering team to ensure ongoing improvement and foster a culture of growth, collaboration, and high performance. Provide guidance on best practices for process improvement and operational excellence in a manufacturing setting.
Standards and Procedures: Develop and implement standards and procedures to ensure quality and consistency across engineering projects.
Budget Management: Prepare and optimize engineering budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to meet organizational goals. Drive cost-effective engineering solutions that improve manufacturing performance and reduce operational costs.
Process Improvements: Recommend manufacturing developments and improvements to enhance efficiency and stay ahead of industry trends. Lead initiatives to streamline machine monitoring, improve setup times, and enhance overall production efficiency through innovative engineering solutions.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders to align engineering efforts with business objectives and customer needs. Partner with the Chief Operating Officer to drive process improvement initiatives and ensure seamless integration of engineering and operational strategies.
Requirements:
• Degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Strong organizational leadership skills with extensive experience managing and developing engineering teams.
• Proficiency in engineering and software programs
• Familiarity with ERP systems and project management tools.
• Deep knowledge of aerospace or tooling experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Must be comfortable working with cross-functional teams and developing a department to take our operations to the next level and increase efficiency across multiple sites.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to connect with engineers, developers, and stakeholders at all levels.
• Willingness to travel
