Job Summary

The Technical Writer is responsible for creating and maintaining Component Maintenance Manuals, Aircraft Maintenance Manual, Overhaul Manuals, Service Bulletins, Service Letters, and other various ATA compliant documents used in commercial aviation maintenance. You may also review existing material and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, content, methods, or reproduction.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Produce printed technical training materials, documents, and publications
  • Author and revise documentation such as Component Maintenance Manuals, Service Bulletins and Service Letters while complying with ATA iSpec2200 and S1000D specifications
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, test reports, and vendor data for inclusion in technical manuals
  • Communicate with appropriate internal groups and subject matter experts to ensure content is accurate and meets requirements of the product or program specifications
  • May develop and write engineering and regulatory documents, training manuals, presentation data and other technical publications
  • Prepare written material for publication by reviewing copy to detect errors in spelling, punctuation, grammar, and syntax, in addition to verifying facts
  • Coordinate the distribution of published materials
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned


Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a related field
  • Experience working in a similar role
  • Basic knowledge of ATA iSpec2200 and S1000D standards
  • Specifically, CMM, AMM, SB, SIL and other related documents


Benefits

The starting pay range for this position is $65,000 to $108,000 however, base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location.
