Job Description

The Sr. Manager, Human Resources will be responsible for overseeing the administration of company human resource policies, procedures and programs relating to the Rheem Manufacturing plant in Fort Smith, AR. This position is responsible for overseeing departmental development, Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, recruitment, organizational development, and employment.

This position will serve our Air Conditioning Division, located in Fort Smith, AR.

Responsibilities

  • Guide leaders and employees regarding Company policies, values, HR programs (benefits, pay and salary) administration and interpretation to ensure policies and procedures are handled consistently and in a timely manner.
  • Oversee local Human Resource staff and related management activities.
  • Manage recruitment and selection of qualified job candidates in a timely and cost-efficient manner ensuring practices are in compliance with applicable laws and company policy.
  • Recommend and implement recruitment strategies with hiring managers that include interview teams, job postings, external advertising, and acts as liaison with sourcing agencies.
  • Initiate and manage core HR projects such as HR Metrics, L&D and Culture projects.
  • Manage all immigration matters from start to completion (L-1 visas, H-1B visas, green cards, etc.)
  • Consult with Leadership to make compensation recommendations (salary offers, adjustments, merit increases) ensuring alignment with market, internal salary structure and equity practices.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee and labor relations issues; conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations for resolution of employee issues.
  • Provide proactive management of employee and labor relations to minimize grievances and/or to settle at earliest stage of grievance procedure.
  • Performs other duties assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration
  • 10+ years of Human Resources Generalist/Management experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing and/or distribution center environment with lean/six sigma concepts
  • Experience with union/labor relations including contract negotiation.
  • Experience in leadership, managing human resources teams.
  • Must have a broad knowledge of the principles, laws, and regulations related to the management of human resources
  • Experience in conflict management and conflict resolution for managers/leaders.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to develop, manage and conduct training programs.
  • Experience in team management and coaching/developing employee performance.
  • Proven ability to influence decision making.
  • Ability to make tough decisions and deliver difficult messages with professionalism and poise.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to prioritize multiple projects and deal with numerous interruptions.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees or regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and employees throughout the organization.
  • Experience in managing a departmental budget.
  • Experience in change management.

How To Stand Out

  • Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management
  • Human Resources Certification such as PHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP
